1969 Austin Healey Sprite Mark IV Vin #: HAN 9U/81303 G **This car has been re-listed because previous winning bidder did not follow through with purchase.** I purchased this Sprite from the nephew of a man who stored it in a barn for 20 years and wanted something to tinker with. He had moved from a farm estate with many projects to the suburbs and wanted a project to keep his hands busy again. He cut out the body rust, replacing it with sheet metal, repainted the car and got it running. Odometer and title claim 21,266 miles, but I cannot confirm that. The Sprite came with the original 42-year-old tires but now has 5 brand new tires that have less than 10 miles on them. It has a strong 1275cc engine with an oil cooler and 60 lb’s oil pressure. The emission control unit was removed by the previous owner and never put back on (Parts are included). There is also a new gas tank. The unique feature to this car is the period 3-window hard top. There is a soft-top frame but no vinyl top. The bodywork is amateur but very presentable. I would call it a 7-1/2 footer. The mechanicals still need final sorting out: carburetors need fine tuning, brakes will need a going thru, seats have some split seams, needs carpet and a few miscellaneous trim pieces. First gear has a whine but otherwise the transmission works well. Front shocks need attention as well as front right kingpin. Title is clean and in-hand.
