Vehicle Detail

This truck and camper is being re-listed with a $3,500 buy it now. That is $500.00 less than my previous auction bids but it didn't meet my reserve, I guess I was too high?? At this price you cannot go wrong. The first thing I would like to say is have if you have unreasonable negative feedback please contact me first before bidding as I dont want to deal with someone who seems to always have issues with others. Now with that said I am at a loss of where to begin. In the pictures you will see my Chevy 1975 Camper Special. I was on the search for a camper for my truck and stumbled across such a beautiful combination of a 1970 Truck and Camper combo. I purchased this combo from a man who purchased it from the original owner in 2004. In 2004 the truck had 47,000 original and only 3,000 miles have been put on it since. As you will see in the paper work this truck and camper was bought as a combo 41 years ago from Mitchell Camper. They set everything up for this camper with the wiring for the duel batteries, camper plug in and rear bumper and the latches in the truck bed for the camper. This is such a cool deal because both the truck and camper have been together theire whole life and both the truck and camper are in increadable condition. Everything has always been well cared for and always maintained. EVERYTHING is in perfect working condition and you would swear the inside of the camper has never been used. The stove, fridge, toilet, furnance and so on and is in PERFECT working condition like new, everything looks as if it did in 1970. All the original paper work and warrenties are there in new condition. The only thing that was done to this truck wat the old man had the heads removed a very long time ago and had them done for unleaded fuel as seen in the pictures. I would like to stress that this truck does have a true 50k and is the most remarkable combo you will ever find!! It has a custom hitch. Both ends of the bumper open up and holds the plumbing extention. It has a heavy duty bottle jack, 2-33lbs propane thanks that were just filled. Every light and gauge works like it did 41 years ago. The washer pump also works great. In the eigine department there is this deal on the driver inner fender where you pull this pin and twist this deal to drain the oil instead of having to climb under there and undo the drain plug. the old man also had that installed. The tail gate is also here and is like new as seen in the pictures. There are 2 sets of original ford amd mitchell keys for everything. This truck has always been a Denver truck. The interior is all original and your eyes would pop if you could really see it in person. For a 41 year old truck I would call it perfect and the tag is still hanging from the back of the seat. This truck runs and drives just as good as it did in 1970. .I cannot stress enough the condition of this combo. The pictures are good but DO NOT truely show the beauty of this matching 1970 Truck and Camper of 50k original miles. This truck just did not sit, It is very obvious it has always been maintained and cared for even when it was not on the road. If there is a buyer on this truck and camper, you Will not be disappointed, Everyone you show this truck and camper to will will be breathless ofer the condition of this 41 year old truck, it is just amazing to see this time capsul 100% unmolested and original. please look at the pictures very close and please ask any and all questions before bidding. I know I am missing so much so please feel free to call me to talk, that is much better than an email. 303-513-1767 Mike. It is buyer's responsibility to pick up or ship this truck. Full payment is expected in full no longer than 3 days of the end of the auction by means of cash or bank check. Aside from all the original unmolested paper work, The old man was also given by Ford 3 complete shop manuals on this truck as seen in the pictures. The camper has hook ups for 110 and can be hooked up to water aside from using the onboard water supply. As I have said, Everything on this truck and camper look and work like new. It would almost be a shame to really use this set up and chance making anything look used. I think it should be taken to car shows and shown because it is a one of a kind combo. The steering has a little play in it and it is only in the gear box, I know there is a way to take out the little play. In no way shape or form does it affect how nice this truck drives and handles. Two of the coushions at the table have a tear. For that being the only issue is no big deal, everything else is breath taking for a 41 year old truck. I believe my reserve is more than fair as I would believe this to be a one of a kind matching 1970's truck and camper in the best of condition. Please call me, I would love to talk to you about this truck. 303-513-1767 Mike. Truck has a open and clear Colorado title. I would also consider a trade for a small camping trailor or motor home in good working order. I also forgot to mention that there is a intercom system from the cab to the camper that Mitchell also installed but when remofing the camper it was not unhooked and pulled the wires from the camper. It is all there and DID NOT get destroyed or damage anything. It just needs to be hooked back up. There is also a long cord included that plugs into the camper (special plug) and a regular plug on the other end for a generator or 110 power for the camper. Truck batteries are also new. The water pump is also new and the 2 roof vents. I would call this combo near mint considering the age but you please judge for yourself. I have dealt with alot of older cars and trucks and have a great passion for the original old stuff, so my eyes may see different than yours due to my passion for the collector cars and trucks. All I see is a wonderful umolested all original 50k truck in jaw dropping breath taking condition for a 41 year old truck. This is truely a survivor and I would have to say this is a one of a kind combo with both being original mates since 1970. Enjoy and please feel free to call. Thanks for looking!!!!!!! It would be a shame to seperate the two but if I do not get a trade for a camping trailor or small motorhome or sell the combo, I would be open to just selling the truck seperate and I can just put the camper on my Chevy truck as I do not need 2 trucks as I'm a Chevy guy and would prefer my truck even though the Ford is a wonderful truck. But as I said, it would be a shame to seperate the two. On Jul-16-11 at 16:01:36 PDT, seller added the following information: This is in responce to several questions that were asked of me. The truck has power drum brakes all the way around. There are two small rust spots on the passenger side fender and cab corner but the drivers side is fine. The cab mounts are pictured and not in bad shape at all. There is no other rust on the truck that I can see. Very solid and exceptional shape for a 41 year old truck with 50k miles. As for the bed, it is in great shape as when I went to go look at the camper the guy had the camper off because he was not selling the truck and I was able to see the bed. As I said I was only looking for a camper for my 1975 Chevy 3/4 ton camper special. after seeing the truck and learning of the history of the camper and truck I was then wanted to keep the two together and buy them both. That didn't happen without alot of haggling that seperating the two was just wrong so the guy agreed to keep them together and sell as a pair. There is also a new water pump in the camper as seen in the pictures. It is equipped with quick connect fittings. I was asked if the camper leaked or if there are any signs of this. I took some additional pictures of the inside and you can see the interior looks damn near perfect. In the inside of the closet door some of the door paper has come off but no damage. Maybe it just came off from clothes in the closet but I am unsure but as I said it is not due to damage, water or neglect. I am also going to include some pictures of the head liner in the truck which is in mint condition as well as the visors. I took some pictures of my Chevy trucks, my 1979 Elcamino and my Camaro for the following reasons. I was asked if the transmission shifts fine, yes it does. It is a 4 speed and shifts great! I was asked if the truck could make a 1,500 mile trip and if the truck has been sitting a long time. Well to answer that question I would say yes that the truck has been sitting a long time. It is 41 years old with 50k original miles. It isn't like it was out in a field somewhere and neglected or sitting on the side of someone's house and never maintained. It is obvious this truck and camper was very well maintained and cared for on a reular basis. Seeing it in person is much different than all the pictures in the world. A funny story is that my son has a new Dodge Daytona Charger and I always tell him that all my old cars will still be running strong and looking good when that new charger is used up. To me cars today cannot stand up to the old American Chevy, Dodge, and Ford trucks and muscle cars. The yellow short bed in the pictures is a 74 Chevy with 61k original miles, I put a v- 8 in it and took out the in line six that had 3 on the tree and put a munci 4 speed in it and added power steering and power brakes. For a 37 year old truck with 61k original miles I would say it drives just as good as any new truck out there and is no mystry when something goes wrong..I as well as alot of other have a great passion for the older cars and trucks and can really appriciate unmolested and original cars and trucks that have survived over time with low original miles especially a one owner car. This truck and camper is no different than the thousands of other people out there that have older cars or trucks that are original or restored. They may not get many miles put on them but they are well cared for and always maintained. Like my older cars, a couple are original and a couple restored, I do not drive them much or at all but I alwaus start them, take them down the block and keep them in good condition. Well the case is as such with thes truck and camper. it may not have been driven much but it was not left to the wayside to go to waste. All my neighbors all came over and checked it out and were all in aww. They just loved the truck and camper and all everyone could say was they couldn't believe the condition and what a beauty it was. As for making it 1,500 miles. I would drive this truck from coast to coast without thinking twice. This truck is ready to roll. Both propane tanks are filled and hooked up. The water is in it and the pump hooked up. The guy had everything ready for me so he could show me how everything works. i truely dont believe anything was used and if it was it wasn't much. Everything is like new. You would just have to see it in person aside from the pictures. there will be no disappointments for anyone. The truck and camper may have a few very minor flaws but for a 41 year old truck and camper with 50k miles it is really a beauty. I hope this answered your questions. Please feel free to contact me if there is anything more I can add. On Jul-16-11 at 16:36:53 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to answer one question. The truck does not leak anything at all. It is not spot less on the bottom side of the engine and transmission but it does not leak while sitting or running. Nothing was washed off to give a false appearence of a perfect clean engine. For the most part it is a pretty clean non leaking engine. I also took another picture of the original rubber floor mat and the shifter boot, Both are in excelent original condition as well as the headliner and visors. I also took pictures of the truck custom hitch which the guy built that extends about 2 feet to clear the camper bumper. He said he took it out a couple times to a local lake and pulled a small boat. I dont think alot of tounge weight would be good but a small boat or trailor for atv's or something would be great. The gas cap on the cab has a locking cap but as seen in the pictures the original is in the glove box, This truck has the most wonderful to it when you are inside the cab. It has that old truck smell and not like a bad smell but a really good smell. Some may know what I am talking about and other's may not. It's kind of like puppy breath for a truck.. ha,ha. I also lowered the reserve just a small amount because I need to take into consideration that there may be shipping charges involved, but at my reserve it is still a great price. I truly believe I could remove the camper, buff the paint and sell the truck only for what I am asking for both the truck and camper. I also took pictures of the lower plumbing and the access door which the old guy even put a reminder up there to avoid any accidents to the plumbing. It's obvious this is an old school man who took pride with his posessions and was taught very well to care for your things. I believe that is all for now. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Regards, Mike.. On Jul-17-11 at 14:44:08 PDT, seller added the following information: I have been asked by several people what my reserve is. Well it is no secret at all. I would anticipate it to be higher but my lowest asking price is $4,000
