I’m selling my 1997 Saturn SL2 because I want to upgrade to a Mini SUV. Don’t let the year or the looks of this car fool you, it has super low mileage for a 1997 and runs like a top! This car has been the most reliable car I have ever owned. The car features body-side panels made of a ding- and dent-resistant polymer material which means it has no rust on it and it never will. The paint is sun faded because this is a Arizona car. It was purchased in Arizona last year and drove back here to New York with no problems at all. This car is my daily driver and I have never had any issues with it. I am the kind of person that takes my car to the shop on a regular basis just to have it checked over for basic (preventative) maintenance. Every thing on this car works and it RUNS GREAT! Here’s a list of some of the parts I have put on it and I do have all the receipts for these as well for warranties. Fuel Pump & other misc. basic services– 5-4-2010 – (Cost 660.90) New Battery -5-2010 Had Transmission totally rebuilt at 91,092 miles, (5-10-2010) comes with 2 year warranty (cost 2,168.02) Complete tune up in March 2011 – new sparks plugs / wires / Head cover gasket / etc. (cost 600.00) 4 new tires – 2-26-2011 - (cost 352.65) New upgraded windshield on 4/12/2011 (cost 268.06) Front Brakes (cost 156.60) ( new rotors and pads) O2 sensor (cost 115.00) CV Joint (cost 160.00) New thermostat and complete radiator flush – also fuel injection service (cost 305.64) Recent oil change 5-4-2011 I Only run synthetic oil in this car because it’s a high performance car. The engine runs strong and smooth and if you notice in the pictures – the engine is extremely clean and looks good. It is a strong runner! The head liner above the driver has some (little) damage to it, see photo. The body is in pretty good condition except the sun faded paint, no big dents anywhere, few Knicks here & there, not perfect but looks good. The stereo in it is not the factory stereo, someone stole that in AZ. It has a Pioneer model DEH-12E in it now and sounds awesome. This versatile stereo allows you to enjoy your regular store-bought and recordable CDs in the car, and gives you a place to plug in your iPod. The speakers sound very good in this car. The tires are pretty new and donut is like new. All in all, this would be great commuter car for someone who wants reliability and fuel efficiency and not so much concerned about a little faded paint. Just inspected this month, NYS Title in hand.
