Vehicle Detail

88 Toyota 4 x 4 Pickup, Extended Cab. 4 cylinder (22RE), 5 Speed. Recently redone inside and out. If your looking for a small 4 wheel drive truck that has alot of miles left in her, look no further. I bought this truck new in 88, and have lovingly taken care of it for 24 years. Truck only has 128K original miles. The seats were recently reupholstered with a gray tweed, and the carpet was replaced with a better than OEM loop carpet. The exterior was repainted with a black enamel. If your a late 80's Toyota truck fan, you probably know the beds are notorious for rust. This one was no different. It was originally silver in color, and the bed started to rust, had it fixed and painted burgundy just for a change. Rust came back and thought before I do that again I replaced the entire bed with a 91 (that was a different design and didnt have the rust problem the prior years did). Painted it black this time. Truck has never been wrecked and has been very reliable over two decades. It has aluminum rims and fairly new tires. You also must take the older (and larger) chrome american racing wheels with tires that are just passable. There are a few minor issues worth mentioning that may need to be addressed depending on how much it bugs you...the check engine light from the O2 sensor has been on for 10 years. The sensor is a pain to get to (on top of the exhaust under the seat I think). The dash pad is cracked and I was going to buy the cover off ebay for 90 bucks, but never did. The gas gauge quit working so long ago I can't even guess - I just write down the mileage and refill before I go another 200 miles. The blower motor for the heat/ac fan is loud. It works but is louder than it should be, no idea why. In the winter, the heat isn't real hot - the valve on the fire wall or the heater isn't working properly. Also, the emergency brakes keeps sticking, the rear hub or linkage/lever is rusted - that will tell you how often I drive it. I must say, this truck does great in the snow, the only bad part is you have to get out to manually lock the hubs. All in all, not bad for 24 years, don't expect perfection. The truck has hauled the material for every home improvement project I've ever done and never let me down. Hopefully will do the same for you. The reason I am selling it is I was going to give it to my son who just started driving, but instead he is going to get the Camry. I have a full size Dodge truck, and don't need to hang on to this any longer. This is a no reserve auction as this truck needs a good new home, especially since I need the room. For not alot of money, you get a decent 4 wheel drive truck. I require a $250 deposit via Paypal within 24 hours, and the balance due in cash upon pickup. I am located near Gettysburg PA.
