Vehicle Detail
This is a very nice 1996 Eddie Bauer Bronco that I have had since taking delivery of in March of 1996. It has been garage kept and meticulously maintained since purchase. It does have 118,000 miles, some in town as a daily driver for my wife before she retired, and many miles for vacations over those years. While I wish we could keep it forever, it is not practical now that we are both retired, and no longer have a need for this type of vehicle. I ordered this in Jan of 1996 to be sure and get one before production stopped later that year. It was ordered with every option available on the Eddie Bauer that year except the CD player. Back in 1996 I didn’t even own a CD. As the years passed, I did change the radio to a Pioneer with CD player with a 10 disk changer. I do have the original radio though. I have tried with pictures to show the true condition, I didn’t even try washing the engine bay or under carriage, every thing is just as it has been kept since new. The body and paint are all original and has never been in any kind of accident. There was a 2” area of rust that was repaired above the passenger side rear wheel well that I tried to get a picture of, but it doesn’t show up. Other than that there have been no rust issues that I am aware of. Just behind the passenger door is a slight indent that again doesn’t show in the picture. This was from a brush against a plastic garbage can which did not damage the paint in the area. The only major issue is as follows. At around 20,000 miles it developed a rear main seal leak. The dealer replaced it twice under warranty but the leak persisted. In December of 1998 with 21,946 miles, the lower block assembly was replaced with a new remanufactured Ford engine again under warranty, by the original dealer. That held fine until last July (2010) when it started seeping again. I had the rear main replaced by the local dealer with 116,730 miles. While the engine was already partially out I had the oil pan replaced with a new Ford pan. At that time I didn't realize I would be selling it and I didn't want any issues with the pan failing in the future. Other than that there have been no failures or problems of any kind all the years we’ve owned it. Everything else is original and in excellent condition. The only other expenses since 1996 have been regular maintenance. As mentioned I have tried to be as honest as possible, but if you have any questions or particular concerns please don’t hesitate to ask. I welcome anyone who wishes to come and see and/or inspect it here in Connecticut. While I would not be able to deliver it myself, I will help in anyway I can. I reserve the right to end this auction early as it will be for sale locally as well. Sold As is. Once vehicle leaves my possession the sale will be final, and there will be no refund or warranty. If anyone would like additional pictures of anything particular I would be happy to try and take them if you know of a way I can get them to you. Thanks, BillOn Jul-18-11 at 15:44:11 PDT, seller added the following information: To glaspak1504 : Sorry I forgot to answer the rest of your question. Yes the suspension, front and rear are all tight with no problems. In fact someone asked if it had the quad shocks, which it does, and they are in fact still the original. This truck was NEVER used off road most miles were highway miles for vacations. That's the reason we bought it, it's very spacious and rides great, smooth and very solid. Thanks again. Bill - uo26 On Jul-20-11 at 13:54:29 PDT, seller added the following information: Note : Several people have asked and I want to be sure this is clear. As mentioned the rear main was replaced last July at 116,000 miles. I am not sure that completely stopped the leak. When we were still using it regularly it was fine. I have noticed that after it has sat unused for a month or so and than drive it, it will drip a drop every now and than. It may not drip at all, or I might wipe up a drop, than see another 3 weeks later. Than if I use it for a week or so the leak stops. Please ask me if you have any concerns or are not sure what I am trying to say here. Thanks to all who have written.
