Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1965 Triumph T120R Bonneville. The case and frame numbers match. I purchased this from a gentleman who told me he had purchased it from his brother-in-law. That was about eight or nine years ago. He told me he thought his brother-in-law was the first or second owner. In any case, the motorcycle hadn’t been through a large number of people. He gave me a stack of paperwork with it but we have since moved and can’t put my hands on it right now. It came from a state that did not require a title on older vehicles therefore I did not get one and am selling it with a Bill of Sale only. There are title companies that can help you with this for a modest fee. The last time the motorcycle was run was about a year ago. The last time it was ridden was about 2 and a half years ago. It returned oil to the tank with no problem. This was just down the street and back as you can see there are no breathers on it and I didn’t want to run it far or long that way. When I ran and rode it I did so on a bottle. The paint job is about four or so years old. The paint job has never been completely installed as you can see. It has received some nicks from moving but still looks VERY nice. I received another Triumph with this one for parts. The only part I used was the rear section because the brother-in-law had cut and welded it to lower the seat height. The rear sections were the same except where the tabs were located so I had a friend braze the tabs in the correct position. The light and ignition switch appear to be original. I had the cover that these mount through but am unable to locate it now. If I find it before it is picked up, I will give it to you. It looks as if the left case has been welded by the front through bolt. It doesn’t leak there and can only surmise that there might have been some crack that was fixed before it became a problem. Again, I don’t know. The front wheel appears correct. The rear rim and spokes definitely are not. The gauges are really clear and, if I remember correctly, they work. The needles are nice and bright for their age as well. The gaiters are trash and the chrome could use some help but I considered just riding it around like that. I had the badges but cannot find them. Again, if I do before you get it, they are yours. No seat. The holes in the tank had been filled. I had the tank stripped and the filler picked out so the threads are in decent shape. I am not a Triumph expert. You can ask any questions you may like but I probably can’t answer them. However, I will post them to see if someone else can if I can’t. I am a dealer but this was a personal project of mine therefore I do not collect sales tax on this. There is no reserve. It will sell for what it brings. I will entertain trades but that just means I will consider trades. No projects. You will need to show me what you have and what value you want for it. I will then determine if I will accept your item(s). I will let you know as promptly as I can if I will take your trade and you can bid accordingly thereafter. If you bid and win without discussing a trade with me, you may still present one after the fact. However, I reserve the right to not accept your trade. You will still be purchasing the motorcycle for the amount bid. I would assume that I will not accept your trade so be sure to have the amount of funds available that you bid. I will not end the auction early. You are bidding to buy this motorcycle, not for the option of looking at it to see if you want it. That needs to be done before you bid. I am selling this AS-IS WHERE-IS. The pictures tell the story. It is a project. Do NOT buy this if you are expecting to get it and ride home as soon as you purchase it. Please come and inspect it yourself or have someone who knows these to do so for you BEFORE bidding. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Whatever else this ad may say SHIPPING AND/OR CRATING IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BUYER AND THAT INCLUDES COSTS AND THE MAKING OF THE ARRANGEMENTS. That said, I will be glad to TRY and accommodate you or your shipper as far as when or where to pick up. If you need it on a pallet or delivered locally, the shop will be glad to do so for a reasonable fee. I will not release it until funds have cleared. That doesn’t mean you get it when you give me a check-certified or not. A check will have to clear and that could take 12 or more weeks. If you would like to expedite release then I would recommend cash or a wire transfer. I had hoped to really fix this up and do something with it but I am disposing of any projects because it has become apparent that I am not going to get them completed. Marriage, kids, braces, life etc….
