Vehicle Detail

You're bidding on a 1964 Mercury Monterey 'Marauder'. This is an all-original garage kept find. She's a rare 4-door Hardtop Fastback. It has the original beige paint still on it. The brown interior is all original. She has a 390 V8 w/ 2-bbl., Automatic tranny, new dual exhaust, recent tires, new front end work and brakes. It features Power Steering & Brakes. This car was bought from a local man who bought it from the original owner in Mississippi. The car has just 37,647 miles on it, and I believe them to be original, considering the shape she's in. It was always kept in a garage, except for the last 2 years, before I rescued it. The car still has the original carpet and seats. The seats are still very good, but will need to be replaced if you're going to make a full show-car of it. If you just want to cruise in it, then it'll pass. The trunk and floor pans are in excellent shape, with no rust. There are only trace amounts of surface rust on the body. All the other windows (outside of the windshield) are in great shape (no fogging, no cracks), and roll up and down fine. The rear bumper has some spray on the bottom to keep rust from getting in. The front bumper and grille are great. The bright metal is all there and in great shape. OK, what are the problems? It will need a new windshield; it will need a new Power Brake booster, which I will get if I keep it much longer. If you want me to fix them at the time you buy it, I'll have to charge you for that cost. There is a small area on the lower passenger-side fender. It looks to have been dented back in the '70s, and was replaced with bondo, which is now cracking and allowing some rust to settle in (Please see the pics). For the prices I've seen others ask for similar cars on here, you could spend less buying this and repairing what few things need to be done, and have a great car for much less than most! The car, even after sitting up a long time, cranked up and runs smooth, and DOES NOT smoke. The tranny shifts out good. There were only a little over 4,000 of the 4-door Hardtop Fastback Marauders made in '64, and you will not find a cleaner, ALL-ORIGINAL, unrestored example. Please write with any questions. Thank you. NOTICE: This car is for sale to only people in the continental 48 states. No ONE with a "0" Feedback can bid. If you have a "0" Feedback and win it, I will cancel your sale! NOTICE: The State of Alabama DOES NOT have titles for pre-1975 model cars. You will be given a Bill of Sale that will be Notarized. Please check with your state to make sure they'll give you no trouble. Thank you.
