Vehicle Detail
You are bidding a hand built 29 boatail speedster. This car was buit by me over a 4 year period. It is truly one of a kind. The frame is a Model A that has been "Z"ed and boxed. The rear end is a '29 Model A, the torque tube has a Borg-Warner overdrive which is 30%. The transmission is a 1935 3-speed. The rear shocks are from a '57 MG and the front shocks are original Hartford friction shocks with Hartford links. The front and rear springs have teflon button-sliders. The wishbones have been split and the steering is Model A push-pull steering. The front brakes are brand new Lincoln brakes. The rear brakes have double adjusters. The tires are 1-year old bias-ply tires. The headlights are Halogyn mounted on nickel-plated connecting rods. The tail lights came from a 1963 city bus. There are no turn signals on this car. The body is made from 2 hoods that were fitted and formed by myself to make the boatail. The gas tank and battery are mounted underneath the boatail. The interior was custom made for me by Fabric Magic in Kaysville, Utah. The dash is oak. The instruental panel came from a 1957 boat. The engine was built by H & H in California. The head and intake manifold and side cover are original Thomas racing components. The headers were built by myself and are equal length, 31 inches. Because the firing order of the Model A is 1, 2, 4, 3 cylinders 1 and 4 are connected together in one connector and cylinders and 3 are connected together in one connector. This helps with the scavaging effect. The 31 inch length was provided to me by Rick Vesco. The engine has been sleeved to 4 inches and uses Ross racing pistons. H & H also made the engine full oil pressure. Please note, this is a Model B block. It also has a (C) crank. The rod journals were cut down to Model A rod size and forged rods are used. The camshaft is a Winfield 3/4 grind from Bill Stipe. The ignition system is electronic. Additionally, this engine has an aluminum flywheel with a steel insert using a 9" Ford clutch. There is no speedometer in this car. With the overdrive engaged, transmission in 3rd gear, 65 MPH equals 2000 RPM. Do not bid unless your serious about buying this car
