This auction is for a 1979 Chevrolet 1 ton Step Van. It has dually wheels in the rear. All 6 wheels have been traded out for standard dually wheels, before it had split rims which are very dangerous. There are 6 good tires. This is a 1979 model meaning that there is no computer and easy to work on.The motor is a strong 350 with 4 speed transmission.Shifts out good. The quadrojet needs rebuilt (a new kit and float are included, but not installed). I've been trying to do it, but I haven't had time. There is a new water pump, plugs, cap, and rotor. It runs strong. The only problem is that the secondaries wont open so it bogs down at higher speed, but it will still do 70 on the highway. The vehicle only weighs 4500 pounds. There is a brand new three inch x five inch square tubing trailer hitch, very strong. I told the fabrication shop that I wanted it to be able to pull a 40' trailer ( I don't have a 40' trailer yet). I did pull a 9000 pound trailer 100 miles away without any trouble. There is 13'6" of space between the drivers seat and the roll up door. It is about 6' tall inside so you can walk around in it. There is also a Coleman rooftop AC with the wiring. It is not hooked up so I don't know if it works or not, but these units are very expensive and any necessary repairs would be well worth it. The body is fair, see photos. It's not pretty, but after all it's a truck that can haul and pull just about anything and thats what matters. I've had this truck for over a year and it's been the best truck I've ever owned. It would make a great work truck, tool truck, mechanics truck, hauling truck, pulling truck, motorcycle hauler,camper, or whatever.
