Vehicle Detail
This is my friends' 1964 MGB roadster. She has the original title and all the original stuff including a "temporary title" all in her name from where she purchased it new after returning from europe. Her son had it reconditioned nearly completely (a few items only to be 100% totally restored) this past year, and spared no effort or expense on what has been done to the car. He has invested over $25,000 and a lot off his own time and labor thinking that he was building it for his mom. However, since it is so nice, his mom is a little afraid something might happen to it and so, they collectively decided to sell it here and asked me to help. I had a really good rep selling a few classic cars and motorcycles I had but the name was associated with a past relation so here we are @ #1 again. But no matter, this car speaks for itself. I had the real pleasure of driving this car. It is like new and the power is probably better. The carburation is sweet and accurate, the motor has surprising torque ( it has not yet been broken in from a complete rebuild) and you can tell it wants to run faster. The handling is amazingly tight and the motor and drivetrain just purr as you reach near 80 mph ( it will go much faster, but again, it's not broke in yet). My friends say the power is almost linear up to it's redline well above where we took it because it's a freshly rebuilt bottom end and a brand new head professionally assembled by a locally well known racing engine builder with decades of experience (see receipts). Any wear items were replaced as well as many hard parts and cosmetic items.. Anything that mattered was replaced or totally reconned. After all, it was for his mother to enjoy again and never intended to be sold. The brakes are all new, new clutch, exhaust, tires, interior, top, etc, etc, etc. Have all receipts. rebuild took a year. Car was completely disassembled, stripped, shot with primer, prepped and shot with the blue, and then carefully reassembled. There are just a few trim items such as the inner headlight chrome rings (which themselves can be reconned) . We can get the full but small list from my friends and the receipts. I have more photos which I will post or even more which can be had by asking. My friend was very knowlegable about these cars and took car to see that it was all done right. If there is any disappointment at all about this car, it could be remedied with a trim item. The mechanics of this car are tight and first rate so there won't be any disappointments there. As it sets, it is show quality and with little expense, could be 100% perfect as it is very close now. Car has about 65 miles since resto. Driving this car was a pure pleasure but one could moth ball this one and feel good about it's quality. It is a solid investment quality car, without a doubt. My name is Dave, my number is 404.391.9019. The car can be seen and driven in gainesville ga where it rests comfortably in it's garage, where it has been for decades. I will update this listing with more photos and info. I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. The car is for sale locally, but not advertised so it will likely go here to the highest bidder. Shipping is buyer's responsibility but we will help with getting it where it needs to go. Thanks for looking and happy e baying!!
