We got a call about selling a 1998 Dodge Viper RT/10 with less then 3000 miles on it and I have to admit too being a touch skeptical. The more I heard, the sooner I wanted to get the car in to the shop to sell for this customer. The miles are real and it turned out the customer bought it brand new. In fact, he bought another Viper coupe at the same time and drove it instead. It would be a huge mistake for me to pretend to know the ins and outs about Dodge Vipers, I am sure there are experts that can tell you which valve cover is correct, which year was the best, which way the nap on the carpet is suppose to lay. The facts that I can supply are the miles were actually 2,953 the day the car drove to the shop, that after careful examination I can find no cosmetic flaws inside or out and that the car looks, runs and drives exactly as it did the day it was sold new except for the mileage shown. The AC took a charge and is working great. I questioned the owner about the low miles and why he bought two and all he did was shrug and tell me he did it because he could. What better answer is there? The car was kept in a heated garage, serviced and detailed when needed over the years, but really needed nothing else. These are the original tires, they are not weather checked and the spare is in the same condition except it has never touched the ground (has anyone ever wondered why a car with 5000 miles on it needed new tires?). Included was the window sticker. There is not much more to say except that if you are looking to continue holding a car with limited mileage on it, there aren’t a lot out there with fewer miles on them. We accept collected funds only and for the amount of the sale. A $1000 deposit must be made within two days of the end of the sale and balance within seven days. The vehicle cannot be picked up until funds have cleared or prior arrangements have been completed. I can assist with shipping, but that will have to be ordered and paid for by the winning bidder.
