Vehicle Detail

Here is a 1929 Packard Standard 8 Club Sedan model 633 with a 319.2 cu.in engine. Engine I.D. is on the block under the water pump. This, I'm told, is what Packards most often used as the I.D. # on the title. This California car was taken out of storage having been there many, many years. The owner wanted to sell it but knew it would show better if some things were done to it beforehand. The wood all looks solid with some looking as if it's been replaced. The doors all close fine. The windows go up and down. All the glass is there except the windshield, driver's door glass is cracked. New vinyl was put on the top. A set of 4 new blackwall tires were installed and we tried to get it driveable. The carb and starter were gone over and it started right up and runs great with good oil pressure. It was simply hotwired to run. It's own wiring is there but looks worn and frazzled so it was all disconnected at the solenoid so as not to burn anything up. It has its own old, old vintage 6 volt electric fuel pump which still pushes gas up from the tank but we had to tap on it to get it going. It comes apart so maybe the points can be cleaned, etc. The vacuum tank system is all still in place but probably hasn't been hooked up for some time, The transmission shifts fine and the driveshaft turns but it was discovered that the teeth on the pinion are worn and will not connect good with the ring gear. I will enclose a photo. The ring gear looks perfect though. We're in a small town and couldn't find anybody to build up the teeth on the pinion and re-do to specs. The pumpkin cover is missing, the horn button is missing, and the guts of the speedometer is missing. The face plate and dash insert are there however. Otherwise, this car is really complete with hood ornament, dual sidemounts (both spares are there), trunk and trunk rack and all hubcaps. All the inside wood trim is there as are all the knobs and handles. This body is rust free. All the reddish spots are spot putty that was used to fill in some chips in the paint. The reserve is very low. This car will be sold.... Any questions ask Ron through eBay or vikesfantoo@gmail.com... Can assist in loading. Thanks for looking..........
