Vehicle Detail
Absolutely stunning, never restored, barn-find, original, survivor, museum piece, time machine, low mileage, two owner example of a 1958 Edsel Pacer. This beautiful Edsel has spent it's entire life in the dry, warm, desert climate of Southern Utah (about 100 miles north of Las Vegas). It's owner was a successful local businessman who owned a chain of auto parts stores. As a car guy, he owned it from 1964 until 2011 and maintained it impeccably. Other than a newer dual exhaust system, she remains totally stock. The brakes have recently been done and new tires were just installed. The original engine was rebuilt less than 500 miles ago and runs and drives beautifully. The transmission shifts great from the buttons on the steering wheel hub. Everything works except the radio. The only cosmetic work that has ever been done is an older, high-quality respray of the original two tone blue, professionally done upholstery of the bench seats front and rear, and an awesome detailing of the engine compartment in factory colors. As for imperfections, there are several minor ones I've found; wear on the driver side arm rest, a stain and tear on the headliner right above the rear package shelf, a 3/4 inch square of paint chipped off behind the rear window and ahead of the trunk, and one spot of rust on the bottom of the passenger side inner rear quarter panel visible only from underneath the car (see pics). All the rest of the sheet metal everywhere else is rock solid. This Edsel only has 69229 original miles and comes with period correct Utah license plates and an extremely rare, authentic Edsel dealership story board summarizing it's strengths relative to the competition (see pics). I wish you could see this beauty in person. She represents an exceptional example of a significant part of American automotive history that has aged very well due to an abundance of TLC that can and should be driven regularly. If you are an Edsel fan, this would be a perfect addition or start to your collection. Please call Chris at 435-669-1470 and I will be happy to answer your questions. Good Luck and Good Bidding.
