1966 Chevrolet Impala Convertible - PROJECT - needs pretty much everything. the car has been stored inside, but on a dirt floor for 25 or so years. The title is no longer in our system, so one will have to be obtained thru Broadway title or similar service. also i do not have the keys. the car has a 396 big block. the code comes back to a 1966, 1967, 1968 chevelle 4 speed, 325 hp. the engine was rebuilt by a very reputable shop here in town ( 25 or so years ago ), the body work was roughed in ( 25 or so years ago ), and the car was driven into the makeshift storage building. I have not tried to fire the engine, but i did remove the plugs and oil up the cylinders, and the engine will turn over by using a 1/2" ratchet on the crank bolt. i pulled the distributor cap and it still looks new. anyway, as i said the old car needs it all. i would entertain trades for a open bow boat with mercruiser power. ( i will not travel to trade. all traveling is on you ). i think you could have the car up and driving for around $1000, and finish the restore in the winter. IN MY OPINION, it's all in useable shape. there is scaly rust on most underbody surfaces. the areas i tapped with a hammer did not cave in. as i stated in the original description, the car sat sat inside, but on a dirt floor for 25+ years, therefore, I CAN NOT GUARANTEE THE SHEET METAL WILL PASS YOUR SCRUTINY. there is a lot of work to be done, but if you look up pictures of these cars that are complete, they make really good lookin rides. especialy convertibles, and with a 396...On Jul-07-11 at 06:24:43 PDT, seller added the following information: someone had asked about the full info from the pad on the engine block just under the passnger side head.: here it is TO 627 ED 188225938. hard to see but thats what it looks like to me.
