I am the original owner! This was the vehicle of my dreams when I bought it, and in many ways still is. Almost all the miles on it were before 2001, when I bought a new work truck. About that time the front differential was rebuilt, with new bearings on the axles, new seals, new CV boots, etc. The Positraction was also rebuilt. The rear differential was dismantled and inspected. All of this work was performed by Rear End Specialties in Santa Clara, CA (still in business). So the running gear including transfer case and transmission are in EXCELLENT shape. The top of the engine (intake manifold) was recently removed in order to replace the fuel line into the throttle body (it was leaking), so the engine has been recently inspected (work done by Autoquest in Redwood City, CA). The engine is also in EXCELLENT shape. It's a 454 V8 and is a strong trailer puller. The 10,000 lb-rated hitch was factory installed. There's a Prodigy brake controller which works very well. Nobody has ever smoked in this car. We also have just shampooed the seats, carpet, headliner and door panels. The inside will be very clean when we deliver it. This car has never been in an accident or had any body work done to it. I will take the Suburban to a local mechanic of a bidder's choice at no charge as long as bidder pays for the inspection and gives me a copy of the report to post with the listing. This Suburban recently passed California smog and is registered in California. Negatives: The paint isn't in very good shape. It will need four new tires soon. The windshield needs replacement. Wear parts on the front suspension/steering will need replacement soon. I will replace the windshield at my expense prior to delivery for a winning bid over $1,500. This is a very reliable vehicle. I would not hesitate to drive across the country in this Suburban right now (with new tires and windshield).
