Vehicle Detail

1970 MZ ES250/2 with Stoye sidecar. The bike model is also known as a Trophy Sport. Period German styling and uninspired color combined with a very exciting sidecar, which not only has a trunk and spare wheel [fits bike too, as I understand] but amazingly has a tilt-up hood for ease of entry, as my wife will testify. It even has a cup-holder. Not a high-powered bike at 250cc, but nonetheless will haul this combination at 40-50 mph. Also, it's much smaller than the big setups, and there is much less tendency to run over curbs, trashcans, and pedestrians than large outfits. Don't ask me how I know this. Earls Forks front suspension is on the bike. Turn-signal and brake-wired, the sidecar also has its own brake, activated by the bike's pedal. The bike currently has sidecar gearing, but a solo front sprocket is included and not hard to change over. The speedometer as I remember is set for solo use, and is not accurate for sidecar use. A good runner when I imported it from Europe four years ago, it was put into storage last year, where it still is, and will need some sorting to get into shape. Parts if needed are easy to get from various UK and Euro sources. MZ's are known as tough workhorses that just keep on going. Licensed and titled in Oregon. Offered as a collector item with no guarantees. The storage room is needed. Ask any questions early enough that I can get you an answer quickly. Buyer is responsible for shipping and all arrangements and costs associated with shipping but I will do what I can to meet the shipper and see the bike off safely. You are welcome to pick the bike up in person. There are several nice transport services, many of which require no crate AND will ship a sidecar combo for a solo bike rate. No bogus over-payment schemes or scam attempts please. NO Reserve.
