You are looking at a great opportunity to own a stunning, show winning, restored 1979 Honda CBX, that you probably cannot duplicate with out spending huge $$....With finishing this yourself, you will have a CBX, equal to one of "Tim's CBX" beautiful bikes or if you're lucky enough to find a pristine original in the same condition......I started this restoration about a year ago, entered it into it's first show this past March, where it took 1st place in it's class....I will detail as much about the bike as I can, & what it needs...Please do not hesitate to ask questions, or call me to talk about it, or set up a viewing time, or if you need any more pictures taken.......I've decided to sell this bike to help fund a purchase of more vintage bikes, otherwise it would not be going anywhere....I am an active member in many vintage clubs & forums & would love to see this bike go to a true CBX enthusiast....The milage shown on the bike is inaccurate, due to the Speedo being replaced with a pristine one & also the motor being rebuilt, due to the dreaded CBX "Hydro-Lock" problem that so many of these bikes suffered from.....The details are as follows.... **First off, I have a Clear Michigan Title in my name, owners manual & every single receipt for every part & service that went into this bike...I have shipped many bikes & will assist the new owner if shipping is required...If the bike is to go overseas, the buyer will have to set up every aspect of shipping, customs..etc before the bike leaves my home including delivery to any shipping facility or port...** I will list all New & NOS Parts first, then go into what it needs... - New Dunlop D404 Tires w/ less than 400 miles on them, "Tim's CBX" complete Show Paint Set including Front Fender,Tank,Side covers & Tail section, Tim's restored Front Footpegs, Clutch Basket, & complete Roller Bearing up-grade for the Swing Arm, Both restored SwitchGear Housings, & all new cables & front Brake Hose to match the Honda Sports Bars..New Drive Chain, Front Brake Pads,Turn Signals,Shocks, Brand New "Sankei 422" Exhaust imported from Europe, Sealed Battery in May w/ "1 yr" warranty, - The following parts were either Painted or Powder-Coated back to Factory Specs...Headlight Bucket & Bracket, Oil-Cooler Brackets, Side & Center Stands "each w/ new NOS Springs", Swing Arm, & Lisense Plate Bracket, Both Inner Fenders, AirBox & Lid, Engine Cases & Valve Cover.. - The Frame was left untouched for originality... - Fully Polished Clutch Cover, Lightly Polished Foot Peg Brackets & Valve Cover Caps.. - Gauges have perfect color & show 5910 miles..Valves were shimmed & comes with chart showing current clearances & shims used... -- The List of NOS Honda parts is extensive..These are all original Honda pieces & NOT reproductions.. Honda Line Engine Guards, Seat, Front Reflectors & Mounts, Headlight Trim Ring, Tail Light, Fuel PetCock, Decals, Gas Cap & Hinge w/ Factory Key, Oil Line, Engine Crank Covers, "4" Carb Covers, Mirrors, Levers, Grips, Fuse Cover, & Numerous Nuts, Bolts, & Gaskets.. - Here's the list of "Bad" & what it needs to be finished & "Perfect" - Engine was rebuilt under prevous owner & sat unused for a few years..Once fired back up, it has been determined there are possibly 1 or 2 cylinders w/ " Hung Up" oil rings...The bike smokes at start up but, goes away after about 3-4 minutes of warm-up time..They might loosen back up w/ some more riding miles, but I've only put on about 300 since running the bike...Worse case scenario, is a teardown & redo of the cylinder hones & re-ring... - Chipped Cylinder Fin that is showed in the "Pics" & "2" small dings in the Gauge Cluster," 1" on the Tach, the other on the Voltimeter...Alternator stopped charging, but this could be the Regulator/Rectifier which I will see if I can remedy before the bike gets sold... ***I am proud to offer this bike to the next person who will finish & enjoy it!
