I submit for your consideration my 1983 GS 850L. with 10299 miles. The GS850 was a very popular standard/touring motorcycle of the early 80's. It features an upright riding position and shaft drive. It is considereed to be a strong, reliable bike. More information is available here: http://www.thegsresources.com/reviews/gs_80-83_850_review.htm. It's assumed the bidder will be familiar with the model. I would rate this particular example as being in fair to good condition. The handlebars are not original and the sissy bar/seat back rest is an after market item. The front fender has a crease in it and there are some scuffs on the engine casings and exhaust consistent with the bike having gone down at some point in it's long history. The damage is relatively minor. There are a few small rust spots and dings on the tank. The seat has a small tear that was nicely repaired. The exhaust pipes have about 50% of their chrome rusted near the engine. Having said all that the bike actually presents quite well and would be a good candidate for an engine in frame restoration or could be used as a donor or used as is. I purchased the bike in 2008. At that time I cleaned and rebuilt the carbs and had it running. Health issues intervened though and prevented me from going further with this project. It was properly stored and has sat since. It is assumed that buyers will inspect the bike prior to bidding. I will make no attempt to start the bike for a potential buyer and it is sold as is. I can provide the shop manual on CD and I have a battery for the bike. It is located near Jackson, MI.
