The Pontiac Grand Ville was the top-trim model in the division's full-sized line from 1971 to 1975. It displaced the Pontiac Bonneville which had served as Pontiac's top-trim model since 1957. The rarest of the rare Grand Ville convertibles was the 1971 model with just 1,784 built. The Grand Ville had a short but fascinating history in the Pontiac line. A large and luxurious vehicle, the Grand Ville suffered the fate of many similar large, inefficient luxury cars when the price of gasoline at the pump spiked in the early 1970s. The Pontiac Grand Ville remains an interesting vehicle and a favorite choice with lovers of large, classic luxury nameplates. The Grand Ville you see here is loaded with features including a big powerful 455 engine with 4 barrel carburetor, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, power windows, power seat and cruise control. The original radio is still in the dash. The A/C blows ICE COLD and the big Pontiac has a new convertible top. The interior appears to be original with no cracks in the dash and just a couple small tears in the seat. The power seat, and power windows all work. The trunk pan looks good but the floor pan cross bracing need to be replaced. I took several pictures while the car was on top of a 3 vehicle hauler. There is no evidence of rust through on the body itself.
