The 1983 is one of the finest most technically advanced motorcycles ever built by Honda. Honda built 1900 of them of which 1015 were shipped to the USA. 550 of those were donated by Honda to tech schools to train mechanics. Very few of these school bikes have survived. My bike is #1005 and was purchased new in 1984 by a gentleman who rode it 6400 miles until I bought it from him on 2000. This is bike I never intended to part with but financial circumstances demand that I do. I have a folder of road tests on the bike from magazines back in that era which go with the bike. I have also made all of the upgrades that needed to be done as recommended by the Turbo Club. It is an extremely fast bike that according to the magazine testers would walk away from a Suzuki GS1100 in a roll on contest. It's also a wonderful touring bike with a comfy seat and suspension. Passengers report it's a comfortable ride. The bike features the following: Water Cooled Longitudinal 80 degree turbocharged four stroke V-Twin engine. One Cam with 4 valves per cylinder operated by push rods and rockers with threaded adjusters. Computerized Digital Fuel Injection. Sensors report the barometric pressure, ambient temperature and altitude to the computer which then adjusts the mixture to properly operate the engine. The result is that the bike runs the same at sea level as it does at 10k feet altitude. It starts instantly and runs strong thru the rev range. Turbo boost is 17 lbs. Shaft drive so no chain to fuss with. 5 speed trans. Front forks are 37mm with TRAC anti dive and air adjustment. Rear shock is a Honda PRO-LINK with adjustment for air pressure and rebound damping. Bike weighs 572 lbs and holds 5.3 gals of fuel. Range is 243 miles. New Metzler ME33 Front and ME55 rear tires. Original tool kit including air pressure gauge and leather bound owners manual are included. I have a spare fuel tank which I will sell separately. There are 3 flaws on the bike not of my doing which I have illustrated in the photos. Part of the decal on the top of the tank is missing, the left side cover has a slight nick in it and the right side front cowl has some scratches in it most likely from a tip over. There will be no negotiations on price for this bike. It is simply too rare. My reserve price is $9998.
