The new body flowed the C-pillar into the quarter, and the lines were rounder and more bulging. The GTO looked muscular without a trace of fat. Part of that redesign was a new bumper Pontiac engineered and dubbed "Endura". I purchased it from the son of the original owner last year. It spent it's entire life in the Southern California area. It had been sitting since the 1980s. He was going to do a restoration on it and lost interest. The hood, bumpers, lower valance, inner fenders, Original motor, and miss. parts were in a storage shed. The motor had the heads, intake and exhaust off. He said it smoked and was going to rebuild it along with restoration. I had the motor assembled and installed along with the hood, bumpers and valance. It does not run. The paint was faded and oxidized badly. I had it sanded and primed. It has some rust in the lower rear quarter panels, inside bottom of the Doors, the trunk floor, along the bottom of the front and rear windows. The floor pan and frame look good. Doors, Trunk and Hood all open and close smoothly. The windshield is cracked but the rest of the window glass is Nice, no cracks or breaks. The interior is Original and for a 43 yr. old car and looks Good. It needs restoration to be perfect.
