1988 Chevrolet Chevy Scottsdale 1500 Pick Up Truck Motor has a knock...sounds like a bearing. This truck is being sold for parts...but with another motor or rebuild this one, it would make a great beater or work truck. The transmission is "wet" on the outside, but shifts and goes through all gears with no problem... probably need a pan gasket. Suspension and steering are tight...goes down the road straight with no rattles. Frame looks nice and straight...clean frame...not 100% rust free, but very clean. Alternator is new...TBI unit is new...truck runs at the proper temperature...antifreeze is fresh. Paint is faded...bed has partial bed liner (rubber mat)...the mat is in decent shape. Lights and signals all work...I think one bulb is out in the front right parking light. No radio. Truck has air conditioning...it blows, but not cold... may need freon...previous owner told me it worked. Tires are almost new...85-90% tread left...very agressive...31 x 10.5 R15 LT BF Goodrich Radials. Bumpers have some rust...front of hood has some rust... center of hood is dented, but closes and latches properly. Driver side rocker has a little rust, but just surface. Bed is pretty rust-free, except over outside wheel wells. Grill has small crack on top...only noticeable upon close inspection...tailgate is solid, except some minor surface rust on inner bottom, right and left. Roof has scratches and some surface rust...probably from carrying lumber or some other building material. Truck is sold for parts...as-is...no warranty whatsoever. It does run and drive, and can be driven home several miles... maybe more, but I don't want to promise...and driving it may make the motor problem worse.
