Vehicle Detail

Custom 5-speed Manual Transmission, ONLY ONE in the USA!!! As you may know from previous auctions, I am the owner of Autobahn Auto in Hampton, Virginia. I'm listing this as a private sale as I am helping one of my technicians at Autobahn Auto, sell his personal, customized C230. The C-class came to our shop as a trade in with a weak transmission. My technician and I decided it would great to convert the Kompressor car into a 5-speed manual transmission. Little info: The W202 C-classes were not available in the United States with a manual transmission, however they are commonly stick-shift cars in Europe. At the time we ordered all the parts from a used SLK230 with a manual transmission, some parts, like the Transmission bracket, shifter roads and drive-shaft had to be ordered from Germany, as these are not compatible from the SLK platform. All the wiring had been professionally done, such as the clutch pedal cut-out switch and the clutch switch so the engine won't start unless the clutch is pressed down. The clutch assembly was replaced at the time and so were the clutch master, and slave cylinder. These parts are all exactly the same as the SLK 5-speed vehicles in the US. Recently my technician and I started a new project for him and he is finally ready to let go of this unique, custom C230 Kompressor. The car has high mileage, but runs and drives great for being what all the driving he's done. The conversion was done at 191,000 miles. There are some flaws due to age and mileage. As you can see in the photos, the driver seat is worn at the typical wear spot. The driver door panel has a quarter-size hole in the armrest area, also seen in the photos. There is a tear in the back seat, some damage to the left rear lower bumper, and the hood has some dents. The tires have about 50% tread left and when you re-accelerate from deceleration the 3rd gear pops out. It doesn't do it however when your hand is on the shifter. Considering all pros and cons, the C-class is a lot of fun to drive with a manual transmission and the car is a daily driver with ICE-COLD air condition. Options, Heated seats, 5-speed manual transmission, kompressor charged, Mercedes Benz technician owned!!!! Fly-in and drive her home. We'll gladly pick you up from the Norfolk, or Newport News airport. The car has a brand new Alternator, just installed 2 weeks ago. Brand new headlight lenses (2 weeks ago,) the remote key is brand new. The idler-arm bushings in the front suspension was just installed last week. The silver paint is still nice and shiny, with NO clear coat cracking. The Check engine light has been on for some time, but there are no major codes in the system. Part of it is due to the transmission conversion. The air mass (MAF) sensor is brand spanking new. Accessory belts are a couple of months old. The was regular serviced at our shop from its owner and no costs were spared. Such as regular oil and filter changes, air filter. Cabin air filter and motor mounts were all replaced in the last 6 months. All the power windows, power locks are in perfect working order. The car just passed VA, State Inspection in March. Even the headliner covering the moonroof is in great shape. These are often torn from normal on the older C classes. Speaking of which, The car comes with a FREE, signed copy of my bestseller novel "Torn From Normal," by (me) Martin Bartloff :-) My technician is offering the car locally for sale as well. In other words if you like to make an offer and end the auction early, you are welcome to do so. Which reminds me, my last 6 ebay car auctions all ended early due to local sales. I encourage you, don't wait if you are seriously interested. We are NOT revealing the reserve price, so please don't ask. I often make adjustments to the reserve to encourage bidding. Last but not least, I like you to read my feedback, I have a clean history with NO negative feedback EVER!! And if you ever sold anything on ebay, especially a car, you know not everyone can be pleased. I am very of that and I like you to know that I don't lie, cheat or add any sugar to my auctions. Just plain honesty is what I believe in. You would appreciated if you had met me. Did I mention the C-class has heated seats LOL. Thanks for looking and if you have any question at all, don't hesitate to ask. If you have less than 3, or 0 feedback points, you must contact me prior before placing your bid. If you fail to do so, I will cancel your bid near the end of auction.
