1977 Honda MT125R

Road racing History The Honda MT125R was only produced in 1977–1978. It was a production Grand Prix motorcycle racing roadracer designed for closed-course competition roadracing. The MT125R was produced by Honda Racing Service Center (RSC) and made available to the general public through the American Honda Motorcycle dealer network. It came out of the shipping crate with white fiberglass parts with only gelcoat. The racing kit would also include a basic, but useful service manual and rear prop stand. The engine was a 2-stroke air-cooled single cylinder displacing 123cc and linked to a 6-speed transmission. The horsepower was 26. For many champion motorcycle roadracers, the road to the top started on a small engine capacity two-cycle motorcycle. Top roadracers like Randy Mamola got their start on a 125cc GP racer. Description The MT125R is perfect for vintage racing. This bike has competed in AHRMA racing a few years ago. The bike has won in the AHRMA 125gp class. The overall condition is very good the bike should be ready to run with some per-race common sense prep. I had to put something in for mileage to place the ad, being a race bike I don't have any Idea of the miles on this motorcycle.The bike has been out of the weather and displayed in my office as an art / conversation piece. There are a number of spares that come with the bike, including an engine with all parts to assemble. The machine work ($900) was done by Swedetech in Sacramento ca. Also includes are new fiberglass upper and lower fairings and seat along with a new Gustafsson wind screen in clear. I also have the original factory Manual and a laminated sales broacher that I found in Singapore! This is a great office show piece or get out and do some vintage racing.
