Vehicle Detail
1979 fiat spider 93600 miles THE GOOD-car runs great, burns no oil, starts fine, idles fine. ANSA exhaust about a year old and sounds grat, carburator not fuel injection, oil changed every 3000 miles. car driven to the jersey shore every weekend in the summer (200 mile round trip) car was driven year around but kept in a garage. interior is in good shape except for split seam in drivers seat and some missing vinyl on console. the rug is about a year old, at that time new the floor was welded in, so undercarraige is in great shape.everything works even the clock. car was always maintained because it was the car i used most, nj inspection good till 6/12. tires are fairly new aprox 5-6k on them. paint is decent, it was painted at least 10 years ago looks great at 20ft. rims are not stock, but the look good on the car. i have put over 50,000 miles on this car since i bought it from my uncle. only let me down when clutch cable broke last week, which was replaced. has a NARDI streering wheel wich looks fantastic i also have the stock steering wheel which goes with the car. vey low reserve, i was going to complete a restoration but i have too many cars (3 other fiats, 3 volkswagens and a 61 impala conv) instead its going. car was always maintained by a fiat mechanic. great starter spider THE BAD-the rear wheel arches are in bad shape they need to be replaced, i was going to drive the car this summer and have it done over the winter. i have the parts (see on trunk in photo) and they go with the car, they are brand new from international auto parts. there are a couple of other small spots on the car, i had a price to do everything, and paint for 2500.00 the trans is showing its age, it was rebuilt about 5 years ago and if you push it hard it will grind a little 3/4th gear. go easy on it no problem. car might need a starter soon, when it gets real hot it moves slow. always started though. this is a great car to drive daily and fix as you go along. car also pulls to the right a little wehen you hit the brakes, mechanic say it needs a control arm soon, just havnt got around to it.
