Up for sale is one of the rarest late model American cars that I have ever tried to locate in 24 years. I have searched high and low across the United States for a standard Taurus and only came across one other sedan which had considerable accident damage. I purchased this as a project car. But as you all know time changes plans and I am now unable to go forward with the project. Also see my other auction for a generation 1 3.0 SHO engine and transmission completely assembled on a sub frame with harnesses and ecm. This car does run, I have put a brand new clutch disc, pressure plate and throwout bearing and resurfaced the flywheel, the clutch has 0 miles on it except for a several hundred yard test drive. It has a 2.5 liter High Swirl Combustion Chamber Engine in it, which does run no knocks or smoke. Has a smooth shifting tight 5 speed transmission. The body does have surface rust as can be seen in the pictures and we just used whatever blue spray paint we had here to temporarily protect it from further damage, as we had to put it outside temporarily because we needed the garage bay for some fabrication. The interior is actually in reasonably good condition, just dirty and in need of a good cleaning. It has all of its original parts including rims. The tires are dry rotted and the muffler is rotted off. It does run, it will have to be trailered or roll backed because it has been setting in my garage for years. The buyer will have to supply a battery. It can be restored to its original condition as there are almost none of these in existence most of them have hit the bone yard. This one is extremely special because it was ordered with almost every available ford option for the model year.
