This model dates back to the 1940 Series 62 Convertible Coupe. This stately Cadillac Drop-Top weighs in at a portly 4,660 lbs. It rides on its original wheels/wheelcovers on a 129.5 inch wheelbase. This classic American Luxury car rides on 15-Inch Cadillac Wires with spinners, wrapped in Firestone Whitewalls sized at P235/75R15 on all four corners. The interior was originally antique brown leather, it has been restored in white leather at the same time the paint was refinished and the convertible top replaced. This finish and interior is a few years old and shows well today. Little attention is needed on this dry climate example. Open the door to 1970. The doors, hood, and trunk open and close correctly. The dash displays clean functional original instrumentation along with the original dash. The dash speaker grille is broken and in need of replacement. This car has been kept garaged and it shows. From a private Texas collection, the car has been in dry storage for past several years. Under the hood is the monumental 7.7 Litre 472 cubic inch V8. This engine was factory rated at 375 horsepower and 525 Ft-Lbs of Toque. The engine compartment shows well throughout. The engine is dressed with chromed valve covers and runs good. The firewall, inner fenders, and core support are solid and original. This has always been a dry climate example. Interesting to note is Cadillac's introduction of a revised rare axle in 1970. This "new" rear end was quieter, more durable, and easier to service. Also, this rear axle boasted the highest toque capacity of any car at that time. The undercarriage showcases original flooring and framework throughout. This has been a Dallas, Texas car since new and it shows. The floorboards and framework is in excellent condition. Closer inspection of the metallic Walnut finish will reveal solid and original body panels throughout with one repaint of this beautiful factory metallic color. There are some minor imperfections if you look closely. The cream convertible top has been replaced. It shows and performs as it should. This top seals the car up well. The soft-ray tinted glass is in good condition throughout as well. The power windows are working. The trunk is clean and detailed, complete with a spare wheel/tire, rubber mat, and jacking equipment. Sold new at Sewell Village Cadillac in Dallas, Texas, the original dealer plate is still prominently displayed. This is your opportunity to own a rare and desirable last year 1970 Cadillac Deville Convertible in good condition. This is a great driving example, it rides and performs superbly. Enjoy the remaining photos and feel free to contact Dave at 214-213-7072 or Maris at 214-616-2317 with any questions. The V.I.N. tag and cowl identification plate are still in place.
