Vehicle Detail
tsteiden store My son just bought a new car and I need to sell this one for him. I'm listing it now because I don't really have the time to devote to fixing all the little things it needs, detailing it and taking more pictures, so I'm going to give you a detailed list of everything it needs and offer you the chance to save a bunch of money and do it yourself. If this doesn't work, I'll go the other route. 2000 Volkswagen Cabrio This vehicle is in good mechanical condition. It just made the trip from California to Kentucky with no problems at all. The air works great, transmission is sound and the engine is good. The interior is in good shape, no tears or rips, but it all needs to be shampooed and detailed. The tires are OK for a while - still some good tread and evenly worn all around. It has a few minor coin-size dents and dings, but the paint is good with no rust anywhere - a good buffing with some fine compound will bring it back to life. The headlights are dulled and yellowed. (picture) Can't help this, but it make a car look old.Front electric windows. They work, but there is something strange going on. Unless you roll them up 1 inch at a time, they will go up to a certain height and then go back down on their own. Sounds like a switch problem to me, but not sure.Ignition. The key must be turned back manually after starting the car. If you don't, the starter gear will not disengage from the flywheel and your starter will be destroyed in a few minutes. The fix for this is less than $200. It's the first thing I will do if you don't buy it.A tear in the top. (picture) Occurred around Kansas on that trip from CA last week. I haven't done any research yet to see if it can be repaired or must be replaced. For now, that will be your problem.Missing trim piece. (picture) Maybe it's in Arizona... That's pretty much it. I'll be glad to supplement this auction with any other pictures you request or feel free to ask questions. If you're nearby, make an appointment to look at the car. You can even call me if you like: 502-657-9999. I'll help with delivery any way I can - pick you up at the airport, drive up to 50 miles to deliver it, etc.
