Vehicle Detail
Your looking at an all original 1959 Buick Electra 2 door hardtop! Power steering, power brakes, and factory air. 77,000 original miles on the original 401 buick Wild Cat motor that just purrs down the road, never has seen a snow flake or sat outside ever!! This was my fathers car that he bought in 1979 from Mrs. Stump the original owner in Tulsa OK where it was purchased new by her in 1959. The car had 43,000 miles on it in 1979 and had never been out of Tulsa. Always a grocery getter! You see 1959 Cadillacs, Fords, Chevys, but you seldom see a really nice 1959 Buick 2 door hardtop!! Super rare and second to none in Classic fins and Chrome!! My father had the right fender repainted as Mrs. Stump scraped the side slightly going in and out of the garage after he bought it. Other than that the rest of the paint is the original "Glacier Green" with a white top along with the matching sea foam green interior. Paint is good for 52 years old, some fading and some scrapes. I've enclosed some photos of where it is peeling on the hood. Car looks beautiful from 15 feet away. A couple of peices of chrome are slightly dented and I would invest in rechroming the bumpers if you wanted to make it a show car. Super clean original if your looking to restore a 59 or just paint and a couple of trim peices cleaned up if you want a super rare classic driver that turns heads whereever you go!! Interior front seat, carpet, and door jam stills, were restored or replaced with original material, the rest of the original interior is really nice. A couple of wear marks on the plastic chrome arm rest holders, a little stain on the head liner but other than that the interior shows like new. The chrome trim inside is super clean and not pitted at all! So interior wise you really would not need to do anything. I think one small crack on the padded dash but for 52 years old it looks like a peice of art!! Mechanically the car runs and starts real nice. All the lights, switches, and gauges work (except gas gauge); doors, trunk, hood, all line up great and shut like that did coming out of the factory because none of this has ever been messed with so it works perfectly! It has a new rebuilt transmission and 4 new Coker wide white radial tires. As far as what needs to be fixed: It needs the tredal-vac ( equal to the power brake booster) rebuilt,a new antena, and new belts for the compressor for the AC which my father took off to replaced but passed away before that was done. Trunk is all original as you will see from the pictures, the car is super solid, not an ounce of rust on it anywhere, and is really a piece of American history that I hope will go to the right person who really appreciates the american finned automobiles of the 1950's and will take care of it for their children to enjoy and appreciate. If you are looking for a rare, seldom seen finned auto from the 50's to either drive or turn into a show car then look no futher! This is it and it's prices to sell with a lot of room for appreciation and investing! Don't let this one get away and regret not driving or trailering it home! It is a road car that loves to go down the road with that one of a kind buick ride! Please call or email me with any questions anytime. 612-597-2421.
