Vehicle Detail
For sale to the highest bidder. NO RESERVE.. I hate to part ways with Gina-Mari (the silver rebel). This is a great bike and up till now a good runner. At this time she has what I believe to be a bent valve on #4 exhaust. She will start and run,but there is a loud tap that comes out of the head. I wouldn't even try to ride as is.The motor when turned over by hand binds up when #4 gets to TDC. You can see marks on the piston where it looks to be tapping the valve. I'm sure if just the bad valve was replaced she would run and have many miles left in her. But as this goes, one thing can lead to another. And like most things when you got the head off why not do all the valves ? I have two other bikes and just don't have the time to deal with this. As a project or a parts bike one way or the other, she needs to go. What can I tell you about the history of this bike ? I don't know how many owners. And I don't know the mileage for sure. It may not have the original odometer. However as clean as the bike is,it is my guess that the mileage on the odometer is original. Since I have owned her. I have installed a new petcock. The rotor and regulator were replaced less than a 1000 miles ago (last year) with new EletroSport parts. Brushes were also replaced with rotor. It has a brand new gel battery. Just installed days before the top end issues. Charging system like all of these DOHC's is a weak link. At idle (<1000rpm) if the headlight is on she will discharge. But anything above 1000rpm and she charges well.I have a cut out switch on the headlight since I never liked daylight headlights anyway. The box that the headlight cut out switch is mounted in has room for a LED voltage monitor also.Tires are good. Got some minor damage to paint on tank when I pulled it to look at top end.The paint damage is an easy repair. There are side mirrors for the fairing and they will be included in the sale. Factory tool kit is there. All lights and turn signals work. Rear turns are red, not the stock amber. All paper is current. No back fees. Local pick up would be nice. If you need shipping, you need to be able to make your own arraignments. Talk with me before you bid. You need to know what I am willing to do to help included in the sale price and what I expect to be paid for as extra service. Please Note: I have removed the valve cover to inspect what the issues were. The valve cover and related parts will not be reinstalled but will be in place. (cover on head) There is just no point in reinstalling since they will need to be removed anyway. I am offering my opinion as to what the problem is, but in no way am I trying to say "do this and you will have a perfect running bike." Prior to this issue she was a strong running bike. And were I to be inclined to fix her this is what I would be looking at based on what I have seen in trouble shooting her.
