I would like to say that this vehicle is in excellent mechanical condition and I would not hesitate to drive this great SUV anywhere, it has had meticulous care from myself and the previous owners. It has one on the best color combinations with black exterior and light gray leather interior. The vehicle comes fully loaded with factory options including the 6 airbag option for safety. The owners title is clean and in hand. The vehicle was purchased from a relative for my daughter for its safety features and has proved amazingly reliable with no required maintenance other than new brakes and rotors about 10K miles ago and oil changes, otherwise it has been unfailing in reliability. As a pre-cautionary measure I recently had a crank position sensor installed as I read the factory item had a significant failure rate. Our Mercedes mechanic informed us that as 2001 was the last of the ML430 line that the reliability factor is very good as the 4.3 liter engine had been a long tenured and used with many of their other vehicles. There are no unusual noises, clunks, vibrations or anything of that nature, the engine does not burn any oil nor have one leak of any fluids, period, the transmission shifts effortlessly and smoothly as it should. The vehicle is for sale as my daughter has graduated from college and will be relocating to Boston without need of a vehicle. There is the anticipated wear one should expect with a pre-owned vehicle that is 10 years old but nothing in my view that detracts from appearance or functionality. Electronics works as they should, A/C is fine, no cracks or chips in any of the glass. The SUV rides very nicely with relatively new tires and scuff free rims. The navigation system works great as well as the stereo system with the 6 CD changer. The only issue is the key less remote is not functional, it may need a reprogram but all of the doors otherwise lock and unlock just fine. We installed a fairly heavy duty trailer hitch which was never utilized for towing but for a multi-bike rack only. This SUV was purchased in the San Francisco Bay Area and has spent its entire life in California so absolutely no issues with rust unlike many of what the vehicles experience from the East Coast and other regions where the roads are salted for winter snow storms. I just drove the car on a round trip to Lake Tahoe which is approximately a 400 mile round trip and averaged 20.1 MPG my daughter tells me that city driving is in the 15-16 MPG range, which when compared to the smaller engine ML320 it is surprisingly about the same.
