1968 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Pagoda Roadster 1968 Mercedes-Benz 280SL PAGODA Roadster (W113) VIN # 113.044-10-002760 4-SPEED MANUAL transmission. Black exterior / burgundy MB-Tex interior. Hard-top, soft-top. Original BECKER Europa AM/FM radio with cassette. Two previous owners. 132584 miles. The exterior paint looks and shows nice, it is very good for a daily driver. Being an older re-paint (Summer of 1999) it has some scratches and touch-ups, which in no way prevents people that are sitting at the local bars and restaurants of getting up, looking just to see that attractive car driving by... The body panels are absolutely straight, sightlines are excellent. Hood and all other body gaps are even and perfectly allined. This car has NEVER been in any type of accident (inspected). Front and rear bumpers, as well as all the other chrome trim, are almost flawless. Almost flawless interior. MB-Tex seats and door panels have been re-done less than 2 years ago. Absolutely perfect interior chrome. Full chrome rear-view mirror. Beautiful wood (dash and tray) in its unique age-patina. Original BECKER Europa AM/FM radio works properly. All lights, gauges, horn, windows and even the clock operate the way they should. Cosmetically this car is probably 7-8 out of 10. In order to become a $60000+ Pagoda it would have to be re-painted and it would need a new soft-top canvas. Original 132584 miles on this car's original engine. This car starts, runs, drives and feels the way it should. No smoke ever. No unusual noises. 4-SPEED MANUAL transmission shifts properly. Recent tune-up. Mechanically this car is 10 out of 10 (the whole drivetrain, including the engine and transmission, was re-built in Spring of 2006, at the cost of over $11000 - only app. 8000 miles were driven since). Everything on this car functions properly and the way it should. Original spare tire, original tools and jack are included in the auction. The undercarriage of this car is original, strong and solid. The whole exhaust system is in good condition and it does not need any repairs. Tires are new Firestone white-wall in its correct size of 185/75/14". Brakes are good, including the emergency brake. Attractive and absolutely gorgeous color-combination. Ready to be enjoyed and envied. Or a nice addition to an impressive car collection... Fly in and drive it to anywhere.
