Vehicle Detail
1976 Pontiac Grand Prix. 400/400 turbo. I bought this car about 1.5 yrs ago. I had one after High School. I had always wanted another one. After getting it home, it had a bad exhaust leak. In order to fix that right, my father and I had to remove the heads and drill out the studs. While we were at it, we freshened up the top end. Cleaned the heads, new gaskets, filters, etc. Rebuilt the carb, new belts.Car had a set of Weld Pro-stars on the rear when I got it. I bought two matching wheels for the front. Rears are 15', the fronts are 14'. The fronts have no tires on them. I also went and scavaged a complete Black interior out of another 76. I have eveything except the seat covers. Those can be ordered, the seats are the same as the Trans-Am. The car has very little rust. That is one of the reasons I bought it. It has always been in the South. Atlanta/No. Carolina/Tenn. The little rust it does have is confined to a few small pin-holes in the front floorpans and a couple in the trunk. The worst one being about the size of a dime. Thats the worst of it. I took the liberty of wire brushing these areas and undercoating them so that they will not get any worse. Everything works on the car. Lights, stereo, lighter and all. Like I stated, the car does run and drive. There is a reciept in the console showing that the transmission was rebuilt. I cant swear to that, I didnt have it done. But it does shift and drive good. It only knocks when you give it a load. Its just tired, I would be too after 100k. I hate to get rid of it, after wanting one for so long. However a career change and move to the North takes precedence. I would be open to partial trades on an older motorcycle. Preference for the mid 70's Honda or Yamaha. Nothing above 500cc though. Just something to putt around town on. If you have any questions or want a particular picture, please contact me. I have had this car listed before, only to deal with a scam artist. I Will Not accept Paypal. That is how I got scammed. Paypal will not cover cars or items picked up. Its your word against the scammers!! I reserve the right to end the auction early or cancel bids, that I feel are scams. If you have a low Feedback, contact me. I will accept a Cashiers Check from your bank. Car must be paid in full before I will give any shipping company or the buyer the address of the car. I hope you understand. God Bless and Have a Good DayOn May-28-11 at 19:34:29 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had a significant amount of interest in the car. I will not reveal the Reserve Price. It is lower than the Buy-it-Now Price. The Reserve price is not much larger than the high bid on the car. Not too far apart. I would be open to offers. However I would want to go through e-Bay, so that there is a paper-trail. This is best for both of us. As for the car questions. The frame, and the exterior of the car has NO BONDO in it. The wheel wells are solid, the front fenders(doglegs), are rust free. As is the front and rear quarters. The trunk extensions are very solid. The door lips and also trunk lips are rust-free also. If I remember correctly, there is no rust in them. A few pinholes in each floorpan, and a few(10-15), in the trunk. The largest being about 1/4 to 3/8ths of an inch in diameter. Everything on the car works, with the exception of the A/C. I took off the Compressor, when working on the top-end. The lines were cut at the firewall anyway. Wasnt going to hurt anything. Could be fixed, but I grew up without A/C, figured it wouldnt kill me!! As far as trading for older motorcycles. I am looking for a Project. Would like it to run and drive. Those are the main things. I prefer 1970-1977 Honda or Yamaha street bikes. Not interested in a cafe style project already started. Ideally I would trade for a complete, factory built bike, that just needs some work. About the same condition as the car I have. Nothing bigger than a 500cc. Best scenerio would be a 305 or 350 or even 400cc. 2 cylinder or 4, doesnt matter. Would like to have 4 stroke, but will entertain deals on 2 strokers. Again, thanks for all the interest. I will try to get info/ pictures as requested. It may take me a day or so for other pictures, so if you want one, just ask. If any questions, just message me and I will try to oblige you with what I can do. Thank You and God Bless. On May-28-11 at 22:17:57 PDT, seller added the following information: Have had a few people interested in the car. I have made it clear that the car will sell. I have just lowered the Buy it Now price. This will be the last adjustment I make. I hated to do this. As I stated before, a Career Change forces the sale. I do not want to move it up North, nor do I have the room for it. I WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING PAYPAL!!!! AGAIN...I WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING PAYPAL!!!!!! I have been burnt by them and a scam artist. They do not cover any automotive purchase. Nor do they cover any purchase you pick-up in person. You have NO LEGAL RECOURSE!!!! I preffer a Cashiers Check from your bank. I will then make sure it clears my bank, before I release the address of the car, or where it can be seen, picked up at. Car will drive onto a trailer. Tires are decent and Battery is fairly new. (as far as I can recall, dont hold me to it.) Hope you understand my reasoning. I have gotten scammed once, and its NOT FUN. Just want to cover both the seller(me), and the buyer(you). Where do these people come from. Car meanwhile is in a relatives polebarn, outta the way/ and weather. Will work with buyer on pick-up and transfer of title. Car can sit for a few days, after being paid in full. If you buy the car, car is to be picked up within 15 days after auction, unless arrangements are made. Car is to be paid for within 2 days after auction ends. I need the car sold and moved. I have moved and car needs to go, its the last thing left!! Thank You and God Bless You. John On May-28-11 at 22:27:32 PDT, seller added the following information: Sorry, the ad says that the car is to be paid in full within 7 days. e-Bay wouldnt let me change it. Car is to be paid in full by Cashiers Check within 2 days. Depending on the circumstances, might go 3 days. A Cashiers Check can be overnighted for roughly 12.00$ Plus that way we both have documentation. Then I will overnight the Title. Then we can work out some arrangement on the pick-up of the car. I want this to go as smoothly as possible. The last scam was a nightmare!! Thanks again and God Bless John
