If there is a lien holder for an out of state customer, the title may be required to go to the lien holder. In the State of Texas, most titles to vehicles are held by banks or lenders as collateral for loans. In some cases there is a delay in receiving the original instruments from the time the vehicle is paid off. While we usually have all titles in our possession at closing, there are occasions where we may be waiting for them to arrive.
