Vehicle Detail

PHOTOS & DESCRIPTION BELOW! I'll start by saying, this is a project vehicle and it is sold strictly as-is, where-is but it runs and drives. With that said, I'll try to describe it to the best of my abilities with no warranty implied. I got this a few years ago from a friend who needed money and I was able to help him out. After all this time, it is clear I'm not going to do anything with it. He told me at the time I got it that the engine was a $2500 engine and I took it with a grain of salt. Now, after three years, I finally got underneath it and found the GM plate on the block with a part number of 12486041 and a manufacture date of 8-24-2001. It has the sawtooth Vortec heads and a Bowtie aluminum intake. I found out the part number means it is a high performance, 330 HP 350 four bolt HO, GM crate engine. So it appears he wasn't just pulling my leg. He also said they put a bigger cam in it and with headers, it might actually be capable of 400 horsepower. If they did put a bigger cam in it, it's not too big because it still idles good and has good vacuum. He said there were only a few hundred miles on the engine, I don't know that for sure but it does not smoke ever, leak, knock, tap or ping, runs extremely strong and doesn't overheat. Has an Edelbrock 650 CFM carb on it and it's running straight pipes on headers, the mufflers are literally just hanging on the pipes toward the back of the car. Now, this car needs a total restoration, the body is fair but he blew out a rear tire as soon as he put the motor in which cracked the fender (see photos). Not too major and should be a quick fix for a compitent 'glass man. I have two hoods, the original and a 3" high rise (red), this is a $700 hood when new, two extra doors with hardware, the blue door currently on the car is missing the glass but the spare has good glass, so either replace the glass or the whole door, that's what I was going to do, a couple extra rough t-tops, car is missing most emblems. It does not look like it was ever in a major wreck but has light bumps on the nose and back bumper. All other glass is good with no chips or cracks. Body wise, it should be pretty easy to get it looking sharp! Original color was red, has crappy paint on it now. The interior is very rough and needs everything done. The seats are not original and look so bad because they sat out in the sun for years, the originals were left in storage which was sold off so lost for good, will be best to replace them. Missing the trim piece on the drivers side that holds the edge of the carpet down. Some gauges work, others don't, speedo doesn't, tach moves but is inaccurate. I do not have keys but the ignition turns without it. Headlights, tail lights and blinkers work. Power windows are not hooked up. Have three door panels and arm rests that would be ok for daily driver, the two nicer panels came on the red doors are solid and fairly nice or recoverable, the other a bit beat up, seats are shot, carpet is mostly there and the back compartment doors, shoulder straps and one seatbelt latch are accounted for. T-tops lock in place... It starts right up when the starter engages properly but the starter needs to be replaced, it binds and kicks out, I put shims in but it didn't make it any better, the flywheel teeth are still look good though. It also needs a manual choke cable put on, the choke plate is loose and has to be held down when starting cold. The turbo 400 trans shifts fine. Goes down the road straight doesn't pull left or right, brakes are good with a lot of pad and rotor life, plus, there is a new set of pads included. Power steering is not hooked up but it's very easy to turn without it, in fact I think I like it better without, AC is not hooked up either. Headlights do not go down, vacuum lines are not hooked up. No rust on the frame at all, the front sub frame seams have been welded but it looks like it was just to stiffen up the front end, doesn't look to have been wrecked. The hood latch cable is broken but the original hood has only one hinge, drivers side lifts so the cable can be pulled to unlatch the passenger side when it's locked down. The rearend seems ok as it drives great but it does have a grinding feel ounce in a while, I think it is a U-joint on one of the axle shafts going out. I only have three of the original Corvette rims, he lost one in storage. I have only driven the car short trips around my neighborhood without any problems. I do not suggest trying to drive it very far, as all tires will need replaced and the front driver side tire is separating but does hold air, no problem driving it onto a trailer... So that's pretty much it, keep in mind, it looks better in the photos than it actually is and it needs a lot of cosmetic work but the mechanicals should be mostly minor stuff and some moderate electrical. This car, with this engine, REALLY moves and with a little TLC, it'll look as fast as it goes! Anyone welcome to come check it out in Las Vegas and hear it run but I can't drive it much more than out of the driveway because it is not insured or licensed. If you've ever wanted a Corvette but couldn't afford one, this might be just the answer for you, it's cheap and it's fast. I never really wanted the car, was just doing the guy a favor, I'm not trying to get a fortune for it. I do not have a buy it now price, so high bidder wins! I do have the title but it was signed twice by the owner, he signed as dealer on the back and seller on the front, if this is a problem for you, please do not bid, as I no longer have contact with him to get any additional paperwork. It needs some work but with some time and money, you could have an awesome door slammer, it will never be a show winner no matter what you do but it could be a cool street car. At this price, you could pull the motor, sell the chasis and stick it in another project and get it really cheap! This engine sells without the intake or carb for between $2500 and $2900! Buyer responsible for picking up the car or arrange shipping, prefferably within 7 days of closing. $300 deposit required within 24 hours after auction ends, the remainder to be paid when the car is picked up! I do not want the entire payment through Paypal, between Ebay and Paypal fees it would cost me over $200!!! Thanks for looking! If you do not intend to follow through with this purchase, please do not bid and waste both our time and my money!!! If you have less than 10 feedback and are serious about buying the car, please email your phone number so I can contact you. I reserve the right to cancel any bids for any reason. After auction has ended, please do not try to contact me by emailing me directly from your email account. Please use Ebay's messaging system by clicking on the "Ask a question" link at the bottom of this page. If you contact me through Ebay, both during and after the auction, I will definitely get your message and respond asap! I do not communicate directly through email!!! Please ask any questions prior to bidding, I am human and I make a mistake now and then. If it is not in the photos or description, it is not included!
