Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1961, pre unit, 650, single carb Triumph masterpiece. The frame was custom made by Wheelsmith Cycles out of Independence Oregon. It`s stretched 6" in the rear and has a stock rake. The front end is a beautiful Donnie Smith girder and the headlight is a kerosene lantern from a Model T Ford converted to a 12 volt halogen high/low beam. The lens was cracked in the chroming process, but didn`t warrant changing. The tail light is also a converted kerosene lantern but it`s off of a bicycle from 1896. The forward controls, shifting lever and all linkage is custom design and hand crafted. The most unique features are that the tank shift lever is located on the left side of the gas tank and the rear brake peddle is on the right side of the forward controls, opposite of Triumph`s in the 60s. The brake linkage is made out of nickle plated bike chain, very cool. But the most unique feature is that there is a hand clutch that will override the foot clutch for safe and easy starting and stopping. The custom pipes, paint job and assemble of the bike was done at Thunder Chopper Works in Sebring Florida. The paint is a beautiful Wineberry metal flake and all the welds on the frame are molded smooth. All the wires except the one that goes to the headlight are hidden. There is a slight blemish in the chrome on the right exhaust pipe, so the bike’s not perfect. But it`s real close. I don`t know much about the engine. It leaked a little oil, but ran great when I bought the donor bike so all I did was chrome everything and put it back together. It still runs great, still leaks a little oil. I`m to old for a ridged frame. This bike just sits in my living room like a beautiful sculpture. It`s never been in a bike show or any biker magazines. Who ever gets this bike will have a great time showing it off. Excepted payment methods are Pay Pale or certified check. Shipping arrangements are to be made by the buyer. I will do all I can to assist. Thank You and Good Luck!
