This truck just had a used motor put into it winter of 2009 by our local mechanic. Originally the truck had 110,000 miles on it but the motor we put in had 65,000 miles on it. We've been driving it since then and the odometer now reads 118,000 so the "new" engine has 73,000 miles on it and the transmission has 118,000. This truck has been a great vehicle, it just needs cosmetic TLC and some mechanical work done. Automatic transmission, 2WD and V6. Gets approx. 24 MPG on the highway. Extended cab has a small pull down seat in the back so the truck can seat 3 people but the 3rd door does not open due to a broken hinge. Hasn't been a problem, you can still climb into the back by putting down one of the front seats. Cruise control, power windows and locks, CD player, tilt wheel, running boards and custom fender/bumper. A/C blows semi-cold air but needs some work to get it blowing cold air. Needs alignment and has an issue with acceleration but still runs and drives. We just had our local mechanic look at the acceleration issue (the truck sort of stalls for a second sometimes when you hit the accelerator) and he told us it might be related to the transmission and that the transmission might need to be replaced. There is a crack in one of the leaf springs and the truck needs a new ball joint. Apart from those things, the truck has nothing mechanically wrong with it. Bed liner and custom wheels. The truck needs a new paint job. My wife tried to spray paint a few nicks and scrapes on the sides of the truck (visible in the pics) and then in an attempt to get the paint off, scrubbed the entire truck down with a tire brush. There are still a few blotches of spray paint on the sides (visible in the pictures) and I have close up pics of the faint scratches all over the truck from the tire brush. The hood flew up while driving down the road which caused some dents on the hood. The truck is missing the passenger side mirror and has a brake light and a front light out. There are a few dents and a little bit of rust. All in all, this could be a great truck with some TLC. Kelley Blue Book value for this truck is $6000 in FAIR condition. They describe Fair as being "Some mechanical or cosmetic defects and needs servicing but is still in reasonable running condition. Clean title history, the paint, body and/or interior need work performed by a professional. Tires may need to be replaced. There may be some repairable rust damage." This truck falls close to this category but definitely beneath since this truck needs more work. S-10's are good trucks that hold their value. Clear title, no liens, ready to sell.
