Vehicle Detail

Up for bid is a Triumph Spitfire / GT6! This Spit has the GT6 6 cylinder engine, transmission and suspension. The body and frame are in good shape for the year with only minor rust through on the drivers floor pan and on the deck lid. Although you will see from the pictures this Spit has been altered from original it wouldn't take much to restore it back. My plan was to restore it however due to loss of a garage and time that won't be possible. I do have extra parts that will go with it and the electronic manuals. As you will see in the pictures it has air conditioning, a 10 lcd screen which will accept a vga connection. The cherry dash was done about 3 years ago when I started the resto. Along with this I installed a new clutch master and slave cylinder. As for what is needed to get this to great running condition is as follows. The car did run and shift well when I parked it but the electric fuel pump is not working now. It needs all the brakes done as for the hydraulics, brake lines and so on. Although I have listed the milage at 99,999 I am sure it doesn't have that many miles however the actual milage is not know since I replaced the spedo with the one that went with the GT6! I have owned this since 1980 and enjoyed the speed and control of the 6 cylinder. It really made it the sports car it was meant to be. The shifter was modified and only takes a wrist movement to go through all the gears. Unfortunately I have to get rid of it and realize it needs some work and a good place to be stored. Payment and Pick up: I require cash from the winning bidder within 7 days from the end of this auction. The car will have to be picked up. Since the brakes are not working it will have to be towed or as I did when I moved it I rented a tow dolly which worked very well. On May-14-11 at 13:00:00 PDT, seller added the following information: Update on questions asked! The seats and door panels are included but should be redone. It was last inspected and on the road in 1990, since then it was stored in a garage until I moved here 3 years ago. It is not a GT6 it's a Spitfire with the GT6 Drivetrain & Suspension. Now for things not mentioned, this spit has power mirrors, a dell laptop with XP and a dvd player (pictured at the lower left of the stearing wheel) where the glove box is located on a Spitfire! The 10 lcd screen is a touch screen so you can manage everything from playing dvd's, internet since it also has wireless access and I also was street atlas 2007 installed and may have a gps sensor for it. I had also installed a sound blaster PCMCI card so you can use it with headphones or add speakers! I just came in from checking to see if the laptop and LCD still were working and everything checked out great. I took some pictures so if interested email me and I will send them forward. The drivers side window is power and the power unit for the other door does come with this auction. On May-15-11 at 13:23:10 PDT, seller added the following information: Last Update! Since the reserve has been met I started looking for items included with this Spit! I have included a picture of the NEW parts I have and they are (2) electric cooling fans, (1) Oil Filter, (2) Carb rebuilding kits, (1) Thermostat with gasket, (2) lug nuts, (1) Choke Cable, (1) Accelerator Cable, (1) Valve Cover Gasket and (1) Fuel Tank Sending Unit! These are new and never been installed. Along with this not pictures is a new set of points and condenser, and (2) steel brake lines that go from the caliper to the brake hose. As for used parts, a starter, which I did replace 3 years ago, a front grill, head lamp buckets and trim frames, a couple of turn signals and marker lights, a stering wheel and horn button. On May-17-11 at 15:04:33 PDT, seller added the following information: Looks Like Everyone is Waiting or is undecided! So let me help you spend your money! If you are from the Northeast then you will know what I went through to get this video done. Since I haven't started the Spit for about 2 years I thought I better get to it! Of course it would have been nice IF,, IT WOULD STOP RAINING. Anyway I was thinking you are looking at this Spit and wondering if it even runs and what it is going to sound like, what about the convertible top? That is probably going to need replaced also! But NO! Check out this short video and rest assure you are spending your hard earned money on a great opportunity and a great Car! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPHbC1u-hzU Ok! Now you saw it, Now you heard it! Now Start bidding on it!
