1955 Chevrolet 210 Delray 2 Door Sedan Project NO RESERVE CHEAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hello Folks and what we have up for auction today is a very good start for that shoebox chevy lover. this has been my project for the last 4 years and with the economy still the way it is, i have to let it go. i purchased this 55 chevy in pretty sad shape. it was rusty in all the typical 55-57 chevy areas and i want to be completely honest with the description of this car so please, bear with me. i am a novice bodyman and have done all the work so far to the car. first of all the 55 was not rust free. i ground all the external rust off the 55 inside and out back down to the bare metal every where.1. the floors { except one } have been patch filled using fiberglass filler. they are strong and will hold. 2. the rocker panels were ate thru in places on top and bottom and have also been patched and filled with fiberglass filler. 3. the right rear tail lite area and quarter panel had wreck damage to it some time in its life and i straitened and fixed the quarter with body filler. 4. there were ate out spots inside down below the quarter windows down at the bottom in front of the rear wheel wells and i filled them with fiberglass filler. 5. the driver side door at the bottom had ate out holes and i fixed it with fiberglass filler, 6. the rear glass area had pin holeing at the top next to the lip where the rubber gasket goes on { please see pictures } and i fixed it with fiberglass filler, 7. there were pits where the chrome goes on the quarter panel on the drivers side and i filled them with body filler, 8. the trunk floor had a spot ate thru on the right where the drain tube had been long gone and i fixed it with fiberglass filler, 9. the bottom of the rear deck lid was ate out on the corners and i filled and fixed them with fiberglass filler. 10. the driverside windshield j-post down at the bottom where the rain gutter attaches to had an ate out spot and i filled it with fiberglass filler. 11 the tail pan section has been filled with fiberglass filler in and out. i am trying to explain the areas that i fixed in this 55 chevy so there will be no surprises for the new owner. i wanted to point these areas out because if you were to walk up to this car and look chances are you would not catch or find what and all that has been done. the car looks good and straight and just needs some minor finishing off, blocking and priming and it should be set. now the good, the drip rails are very good, the windshield area is in really good condition, the bottom and around the rear glass area is good except the pin holeing up high that i mentioned before.rear wheel wells is really good, the firewall is in good shape, the dash area is really good, front fenders aren't bad just down at the very bottom { one i have fixed with fiberglass filler the other one i have not got to } please again look at the pictures. the hood is good with all the inside bracing. the inner fender wells are good, basically the rest of the car is in good shape. the front end has been rebuilt and tight with all bushings, ball joints, idler arm, tie rods good, and front shocks. i installed brand new 5 leaf leaf springs and rear shocks, new brake shoes, rebuilt all wheel cylinders, turned rear drums the fronts didn't need it, new flexible hoses, but have not installed any hard line.i have a new duel bowl master cylinder that will be better than the original single bowl master cylinder { 1969 corvette fits just right on the lower two mounting studs} all the emergency brake cables are connected. i installed tapered bearing hubs in both of the front for dependability and done away with the ball bearing hubs. i have all the parts that goes back in to the car { automatic steering column, dash instruments, glove box door, horn cap and ring, no radio but speaker and housing, wiring harness, swinging pedals for automatic, working window regulators and tracks, working door latches and locks, working cowl vents and hardware, deluxe heater and ducts, complete FRONT and REAR SEATS that need reworking, door and quarter board chrome, all the garnish mouldings around all the windows and front and rear glass, exterior chrome {except the door spears}, radiator, headlites and buckets, taillites and housings, gas tank and neck, gas tank straps, new side engine mounts that bolt to the frame and new transmission crossmember kit, bumpers front and rear with braces, grill and braces, good rear glass but windshield is fogged up 3 inches from the bottom, side glass but they have cracks good for a pattern on cutting new ones } the seat bracing and other structure supports doesn't appear to be bad. i want every one to know that this 55 chevy looks pretty good and is no dog by no means but it is 56 years old and does have body filler and rust out patching with long hair fiberglass filler. this is going to be a very good bargain for someone that wants to make a street driver or a hot rod out of this car. i have set a NO RESERVE as i have to move this 55 and my loss is your gain. this was a 6 cylinder powerglide car that was glacier blue with an india ivory top. the insides was blue and beige block pattern that only a delray had. the codes are 55-1011A TRIM 506 PAINT 614. it was an atlanta built car sometime around august of 55 according to the vin # and i have a clean clear title in hand for the 55. i know i have forgot something so please look at all the pictures and ask all questions and i will get back to you. the 55 chevy is not drivable and will have to be picked up with a car trailor by the winning bidder. the wheels that are on it belong to another guy and do not go with the auction. they are 14x7 station wagon wheels and he is proud of them, i will have some rollers on it to load it up with. all items are sold as is, where is, cash payment in hand in person upon pick up of vehicle. cash payment and pick up of vehicle is due within 7 days of auction close. please look at my feedback and bid with confidence good luck and happy bidding, thanks On Apr-15-11 at 08:26:12 PDT, seller added the following information: i have been asked about the frame and seat braces underneith. the frame has no rust out and is in very good shape. the floor and seat braces all appear to be good and i see no rust out in them either. thanks
