Vehicle Detail
1950 Chevy short bed ½ ton. This truck is being sold asis and with a bill of sale. There is no pick slip, it was lost many years ago. My dad has had this truck since 1978, drove it for a few years than he bought a new 81 Chevy truck(at the time it was new).He said the truck drove good but the new Chevy drove better that’s why he ended up parking the 50 Chevy deep in the back yard. 1982 was the last time the truck was registered, that means there is totally no record at the DMV. I have the forms to get the new registration started. Body has dents but they can be repaired no need to replace panels. Rust is very minimal, there is miner rot between the front fenders and the cab. Heavy rust around the antenna and around the front windshield, looks like you can grind rust off and it will be OK. The front floors where rotted but I recently replaced them. Overall the body looks great door bottoms are great, cab corners no rust. The bed and tail gate look really good, bed wood is long gone only bed strips remain. The brakes are shot and need to be completely replaced. The engine is an in line six, runs but burns oil it should get rebuild. I rebuilt the carb replaced the gas tank with a good used one, put in a new gas sending unit and replaced the battery (6v). Radiator and all of cooling should be replaced. I replaced all 4 tires with BFG’s and 4 new inner tubes. Tires are 85% new. The inside is all original, I had the seat redone in black and looks good. All the wires are original only thing I changed was the ignition switch, we lost the original key. Both door glass go up and down with no problems all glass is there no cracks but has bubbles. My plans were restore this truck add a 350 v8 and have some fun, reality don’t have the time or the cash. Perfect for all original, custom or hot rod. Will assist with shipping to were ever it may go (Just arrange for pick up and delivery) buyer pays for all shipping charges.
