Vehicle Detail
I have a 1984 Pontiac Trans Am 2 seater retractable hardtop convertible for sale. It has just over 34,000 original miles on it. It's in excellent condition. Runs great. Has a 5.0 Liter High Output 305 V8 engine. 4 speed automatic with functional hood scoop. Very clean with original exhaust pipes. Has power windows and locks, original stereo w/ cassette player. Had a very expensive custom convertible top replacement job done June 2007. The actual roof is hard fiberglass, and it is lined with a cloth top. New tires put on at 28,000 miles (have all maintenance records). I bought the car 5.5 years ago in Michigan. I believe I'm the 3rd owner. Clean carfax (I have a copy of it). It had 27,000 miles on it when I bought it so I've put on about 7k miles. Current odometer reading as of 5-8-11 is 34,287. Just had a complete tune up and oil change 4-14-11. Runs great!! Dashpad and center console lid are in excellent condition. No cracks or breaks like is usually present in these cars. Center Console lid has large sticker underneath depicting numerous part serial numbers and such. Has extra reinforced "X" shaped frame underneath car that all Auto Form vehicles received. There are areas of surface rust and minor chips/dings throughout the car, like on the edges of the door near the handle, under the front edge of the hood. I have some rare original documentation to go with the car as well: original owner's manual, original 1984 Pontiac dealer brochure, original 2 page window sticker showing all options that came on the car, and an original full color copy of the brochure from Auto Form (the company that actually did the convertible conversion). It has some great pics and description/details as to the design that went into it. I also have an original 1984 Pontiac paint color swatch book. Very rare car, and rare documentation to go with it. I have another Auto Form convertible I've owned longer/invested more money in and would like to free up some space. Never driven in winter, always garaged. Weekend car. No accidents, pets, or smokers. I do not have a key for the mini-trunk in back. I was never given one when I purchased the vehicle, nor have I needed to use it at all. You can access the trunk area via the larger hatch. Both trunk area lifts are strong and hold the trunk open by itself. I've had to replace a fuse every once in a while (the one that is for the power door locks, trunk release, and interior light), but that seems to be typical for older vehicles. This car is definitely a head turner. Gets lots of looks when driving it around, especially with the top down. Would be a perfect summer car for someone, or a nice addition to a unique car collection. Reason for selling is I have another Auto Form convertible I have owned longer, and invested more money in (I'm keeping it). Plus, I want to free up a garage space for my daily driver. This car actually has more power/faster acceleration than my other Auto Form (an 83 Crossfire Fuel Injection). Things I've done since owning it: brand new set of Goodyear tires, new hood lifts, replacement convertible top (June 2007), oil changes performed on vehicle, tune-up. Clean carfax.Options: am/fm stereo cassette player, power windows and door locks, a/c cruise control (a/c does not blow cold, never tried the cruise control so better to assume it doesn't work), power trunk release, 5.0 High Output engine. Serious bidders only. DO NOT BID if you are not going to pay. Buyer must not have excessive negative feedback. I reserve the right to cancel any bidders I do not believe are serious. Buyer must submit non-refundable $500 deposit within 24 hrs. of auction's end. Remainder of balance must be received within 7 days of down payment. Balance due in cash, cashier's check, or money order. But money must be deposited in my bank (which is nearby) PRIOR to me handing over the keys and title to the car. I'm confident this car will drive without a problem, but if you want to ship it that's fine. But YOU MUST ARRANGE SHIPPING IN ADVANCE BEFORE purchasing the car. Not sticking me with it, or waiting to figure it out after the auction has ended. Anyone bidding on the car must contact me prior to inform me of their means of pickup (i.e. pickup or shipping). I can assist with some of the logistics on the receiving end, but you must use one of ebay's recommended shipping companies. Please contact me with ALL questions BEFORE bidding. I am not responsible for anything later that you thought "should" have been a certain way, but never clarified by asking. If you're not sure about something, ASK FIRST. I've tried to take pictures of as many areas of the car as possible. I have also tried to be as honest and upfront as possible in my description so there will be no surprises. Car is also for sale locally, so I have the right to end the auction early. Check out my feedback rating and see that I have a perfect positive reputation. USA BIDDERS ONLY. Ask questions!!! Thanks for looking and good luck.
