Up for sale is my 1953 Chevy 3100 ½ ton Pick-Truck, 5 window, Thriftmaster. Florida Truck for over 20+ years. I have owned many trucks in the past, but I must say this is one of the nicest I have ever had. It was restored about 16 years ago by an older gentleman who used it as a daily driver from 1994 until last year when he was simply too old to drive anymore. He took very, very good care of it and made it as reliable as it could be for him. I drive this truck on a regular basis cruising very easily at 50-55 MPH all day long. I don’t ever hesitate to drive anywhere in this truck with my kids. However, you must remember, that even though I feel so strongly about this great trucks condition, it is still a 58 year vehicle and it’s performance, looks, condition, limitations must be respected and expected. Third party inspections are more than "Welcome". Low Reserve!! Body: Extremely good condition, all original panels and sheet metal, has almost no dents (from what I can tell), minimum surface rust, Driver-side Cab Corners is starting to develop a little rust but nothing major. Floors are SUPER solid and no rust inside or underneath. The worst case of rust is not the bottom of the doors but the very top of the doors were it appears that the weather strip wore out and it develop some moisture therefore some rust (nothing major). Bed: It has wood planks that are very old, but unlikely original. The trim pieces have almost no rust and have no dents, brakes, or damage. The inside bed walls do have rougher rust parts, but nothing that requires immediate attention. Paint: Was painted a long time ago, but all the clear is completely gone, and now it is starting to chip and flake in certain places. HOWEVER, it has developed an AWESOME patina like flat different tones of greenish, bluish color. The color is unbelievable. All the people who have seen it at shows have told me not to repaint it as it looks so original and good. If you opt to paint it, it’ll be extremely easy taking into account the great condition it is in. Interior: It was completely gutted and done from scratch with all original parts. Carpet has one layer of padding with a factory carpet over it. Seat was re-upholstered and has a thick, very comfortable bench with 0 rips and scratches (feels better than new). Springs on the seat are strong and firm. They make no noise. New working condition gauges ($600 value). Dash is in perfect condition, with glove box in great condition. Steering wheel has some cracks and chips but very solid. Chrome: All Chrome is rusted, but I have manually polished it and it doesn’t look bad at all. This is what gives this truck a very kool original look. Rear bumper is new. Motor: Original In-Line 6, 235 motor: works perfect and has absolutely no issues Transmission: Rebuilt original, Manual 4 speed on the floor. (Some play, but it shifts smooth). Fuel System: Rust Free in cab fuel tank with 0 % of fuel gasses inside the cab. All lines are sold and have 0 leaks. Wheels & Tires: Tires have about 60-70 % thread still remaining. Steel Wheels which me and my boy painted with car paint and gloss. Color: Rave Red Metallic, Note: the tires have White Wall Inserts are should not be mistaken with ply white wall tires…. Carburetor: 100% original which has been rebuilt a few times and cleaned. Has absolutely no current issues and has no problems whatsoever, (does not need to be re-built). Brakes: Drum Brakes all-around with new pads and brake lines, (needs no brakes, except for emergency brake needs adjusting). Cooling System: Original Radiator, which has no leaks Electrical: All new wiring was done with restoration. All new wiring harness, converted to 6 volt. The following items work with no issues: headlights, low & high beams, front & rear blinkers, wipers, and horn (has original plus an updated horn. They both sound with separate controls buttons). Glass: Windshield is perfect with no cracks, Rear Window, perfect with no cracks, Side-Rear Windows, perfect no cracks, Drivers side, rolls up & down great but it is cracked, Passenger-side gives you a hard time but will roll, and it is cracked, Triangle Window on both sides work great and have no cracks.
