Vehicle Detail
This is a complete and unmodified 1965 Mercury Comet Cyclone. It sat in a barn for about twenty years and is now being offered for sale. The car is original and it's all there except for the radiator and fan. Does not run, brake, or shift. It will need a complete restoration, but has everything that was a part of the Cyclone package: - stainless wheel covers -chrome valve covers and breather -grey and chrome air cleaner -Sprint tachometer -emblems in the seat covers -imitation woodgrain steering wheel -all chrome body trim and emblems The body is rough and looks like patch work has been done to the rear quarters, however it will need new sheet metal in the lower quarters and lower door skins anyway. The floor pans look to have been replaced at one point. That being said though, this car is surprisingly solid. The door gaps are even and the doors close with a reassuring thud. It is a solid foundation for a restoration. Please contact me with questions before bidding. I am more than happy to take photos of specific areas if a serious bidder wants them. I am not interested in parting this car out or selling to anyone who would do so. This car is for sale only to collectors who are planning on restoring it. On May-08-11 at 14:02:18 PDT, seller added the following information:I've had a few people come out and look at the car, and I just want everyone to make sure that they realize that this car needs a lot of body work. Rear torque boxes, lower quarters, lower doors, and all floor and trunk pans will need to be replaced. I don't want anyone to be surprised. That being said, everyone is confirming that this car is ALL original and ALL there. Even the shift linkage and carb are correct. It is a great candidate for a full restoration.
