Up for auction is my 87 Firebird Formula. Purchased in 2006 with 120K miles and a bad engine, I swapped in a 350 for a few years but the car wasn't driven much. I recently purchased a 89 Turbo TA so this car must go. I rebuilt the original 305 with a new crank, replacement rods, new rings/bearings/seals. The engine runs good, doesn't burn or leak. The good - all work done in the last 500-1000 miles- rebuilt engine - new tires (Kuhmo Ecsta AST's)- new struts/shocks - new upper strut mounts (aftermarket camber/caster plates)- new front brakes (calipers/pads/hoses/bearings) - new clutch/throwout bearing/flywheel- new clutch slave cylinder- new radiator- new exhaust y-pipe- most body seals have been replaced - t-top/door/hatch/hood (not window inner/outer)- new sail panels and sun visors- good used headliner just installed- Fat Mat installed throughout to keep the noise down The bad- failed VA inspection for no catalytic convertor- failed VA inspection for no third brake light (light is included but mounts to the spoiler which is in bad shape)- seats are fairly bad- carpet is a little dirty and faded- paint is shiny but there are lots of scrapes/scratches (front bumper insert has a crack on pass. side)- spoiler is in bad shape and will not mount to the vehicle- console is complete, but not in great shape- car idles erratically, most likely because of bad throttle body The reserve is low, the car must go.
