Vehicle Detail

I purchased this vehicle in September of 2010 with a bad engine in it. My intentions were to drive it in order to stop putting miles on my Marauder and to save gas. So I intended to drive this car until the wheels fell off. unfortunately with gas being so high, I intend to go with an even smaller engine than the 3.8L Supercharged that's in this Riviera. I purchased this vehicle with 141,384 on the odometer. In October 2010, I dedicated almost the whole month doing repairs/replacements on this vehicle. And this is what was done to it: 1. I rebuilt the engine...This is not a junk yard replacement!....The rebuild included cleaning and machining the block(honing the cylinders, not cutting them), replacing the crankshaft with a remanufactured crankshaft with new main and rod bearings(0.010 oversize), replacing 1 connecting rod, new piston rings, putting in all new lifters and pushrods, replacing the camshaft bearings, machining the heads, replacing the valves and valve seals, a new Melling oil pump, a new timing chain and sprockets and all new Felpro Gaskets. 2. New water pump and thermostat. 3. New motor mount. 4. New belt tensioners(both of them). 5. New belts(both of them) 6. New Crankshaft and camshaft sensors. 7. New upper and lower radiator hoses. 8. New front Sensatrac struts, strut mounts and springs(All by Monroe) 9. New rear air shocks(AC-Delco), new rear shock mounts and springs(By Monroe) 10. New rear front and rear brake pads. 11. New front and rear brake rotors. 12. New front and rear hub bearings. 13. New front abs harness wires(both sides) 14. New tires(all 4) 15. New exhaust from manifold all the way back, including the front pipe, catalytic converter, both rear pipes and both rear mufflers with tail pipes attached(All made by Walker) 16. New oxygen sensors(both) 17. New battery, the ACTUAL battery that is designed for the Riviera(Duralast Gold) 18. New battery vent tube assembly. 19. New knock sensors.(Both of them) 20. New oil level sensor. 21. New alternator. 22. New starter. 23. New fuel pump.(Delphi) 24. Used gas tank.(They don't make these tanks anymore, but the used tank is like new.) After I completed all of this work, I drove the car around throughout the month of November, then I was shipped to Arizona from the beginning of December until the end of March. So the car was not driven for 4 months. After I returned home, I replaced a couple more items: 1. New radiator. 2. New AC Compressor. 3. New AC Accumalator and orifice tube. 4. New AC Condensor. In addition to everything else, this car had the HID lights already installed when I purchased it.(Only for the low side though, no hi beam or daytime running lights.) Also, the previous owner said that the transmission was rebuilt. Although I have no proof of this, I do believe him.(The trans looks newer, the lines look newer, and the fluid is very bright red.) It also has a remote starter, but I think that it needs to be reprogrammed. It was working before I pulled the engine out, now it doesn't. But it does still get power. It also has a moonroof that works great. There was a broken aftermarket radio in it when I purchased it, but the factory radio was still in the trunk and it still works, so I put it back in. It does have brand new Jensen speakers all around it though, and they sound great! The bad: 1. Despite having all new AC components, I still couldn't get the AC system to vacuum out. Which means that there is a leak somewhere. It should be a simple fix with a hose or an o-ring, but I'm saling it as is. All of the major parts have already been changed. 2. Even with the new oxygen sensors, the check engine light comes on every now and then with an oxygen sensor code. It doesn't effect the drivablity at all, but it does come on. I'm thinking that it's just due to the engine not being completely broken in yet.(It barely has 2000 miles on the new engine.) 3. The ABS/Traction control light comes on as well. The code is a C1261. This may be fixed with the ABS relay being replaced.(In which I intend to do this week.) So this problem may be resolved by the time this car sales. 4. The dash face bezel was damaged when the previous owner put in the aftermarket radio. Theses bezels are a dime a dozen at the salvage yards, I just didn't go and get one. They are very easy to replace as well. 5. It does have a couple of rust spots on the drivers side and it could use a paint job.(I don't do bodywork.) Nothing too serious though. I've tried to be as thorough as I can. And I know that there are parts that I've changed that I haven't listed. As I stated, I intended to drive this car until the wheels fell off! There is NO PLACE that I wouldn't trust this car to drive to! It is STILL my daily driver, so the miles will be slightly higher when the vehicle is sold. My starting bid may seem high to some people, but you have to consider that I have over $4000 actual dollars into the car, not including if I added my labor! And there is still NO RESERVE! I do have the car listed for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end this auction early. If there are any questions, or if you want to come and see/drive the car(You can bring your mechanic), feel free to email or call me at (313)574-3575..... Thank you and happy bidding!
