Vehicle Detail
I bought this car in 2003 with 102K miles on it. Oil was changed every 3000 miles and the car has been taken care of. I am selling this car because, according to 3 mechanics, it needs new head gaskets installed. I had the intake gasket installed and that did not fix the problem of overheating. The car was getting 26-27 miles to the gallon when I quit driving it. It will start and run fine but it will overheat. The cooling system was flushed and a new thermostat was installed. That did not fix the problem. The water pump is fine. In the meantime I bought another Pontiac and am now driving that. The Grand Prix has a straight body with the usual paint chips and wear that a car of this age and mileage would show. The paint still shines pretty well. The "wing" on the trunk lid has lost its shine (clear coat) but the car still looks good. The upholstery is not ripped or stained. There are a few minor interior problems like a missing knob and one of the electric door locks needs replacing. The door can be locked by hand. The console lid needs a new hinge but sits in place with no problem. In the last year I have replaced the serpentine belt, alternator, and had the rear struts and supports replaced. I had a new radiator installed 2 years ago. There is still some tread left on the tires. The AC works fine. The motor is a 3.1.I will take out my stereo and put the original radio/cassette player back in it. This car has served me well but due to my physical handicap I am no longer able to work on the car. Please email with any questions. PayPal is acceptable as payment as well as cash. No checks. A $200 deposit is due within 48 hours of auction closing. Car must be picked up within 10 days of sale unless other arrangements have been made. Thank you.
