Vehicle Detail

Here we have a great example of a well kept truck! I am listing this for a very good neighbor. It has always been stored inside and they have been very thorough with all maintenance. The only thing I have found on this beauty that needs attention is the windshield. (vertical crack towards passenger side) This truck starts easy and runs out fine. Real solid cab floor. Heavy duty bed floor. Nice tail gate. Solid frame rails. Solid leaf springs front and rear. Very solid fenders on all four corners !! Solid hood with a small dent (pictured). Solid doors. (passenger door has small crease in lower corner pictured) Great grill. Straight bumpers. Clean interior. Would make a great work truck or just drive it to the local Friday night cruise. Inner bed measures: 4ft 2in wide / 6ft 8in long. It has two solid tie down points. The truck has good tires, all new brakes, new battery (12 volt system), new mufflers and tail pipes. Six cylinder, with car type four speed , 67 Chevy truck rear end, later model styled steel wheels. There are two patches on the cab pictured. I do not know how big the rust hole is under them. The cab is all I see that has had prior rust repair. everything else seems to be in great shape. If you know of typical problem spots on this model truck, ask me to verify its condition. I am ready to answer any and all questions. I have 37 pictures on file. (24 of which are posted) I will get additional pictures upon request. I have listed this truck honestly and to the best of my knowledge. It is being offered : AS-IS no warranty. Buyer is responsible for shipping and all cost related to shipping. I offer reasonable shipping at $1.00 per loaded mile up to 400 miles of 63026. This truck is located 20 minutes south of St. Louis Missouri. I invite all bidders to inspect this truck in person prior to bidding. Call me for an appointment 1 314 757 3489.....James I reserve the right to end this listing for local cash sale. High bidder will be given a second chance offer if it does not meet reserve. I am offering a buy it now for all bidders. Please be sure you are satisfied with my description before pushing the buy it now option. All questions with answers will be posted unless you specify not to. I am not real familiar with Chevrolets, so if I don't have it posted correct, please know it was an honest mistake. With your input, I will correct the problem. Motivated seller wants the space back in her climate controlled shop. Don't be shy to make a reasonable offer ! On Apr-29-11 at 20:04:37 PDT, seller added the following information: I have done several hours of research on 1947-55 Chevrolet trucks since posting this listing. I am unable to revise the descriptive title. I should have listed this truck as a custom 47-55 S early. It is titled as a 1955 Chevrolet by the State of Missouri. Hence the serial # DR139443MO This is a legal title and is completely transferable. What we have here is a truck assembled from many nicer truck parts and Troop C Highway Patrol inspected and tagged. My guess, titled as a 55 because of the cab. (first series 55 with one piece windshield) The doors are 1947-early 1950 The bed is 1947-1953 Tail gate 1947 - at least 1955 I have not identified front fenders to exact year. 1947-53 I think the grill is 1953 I hope you will forgive my ignorance. I listed it as it is titled. This is a really nice truck regardless of mixed body parts. I have listed this for my neighbor as a favor. The man that built this truck is no longer with us, so I can't ask him the exact details of the build. After all the research, I have to say that this truck is much better looking than the early series 55. Bid on it the way you see it. Any more info I recieve will be posted. On Apr-30-11 at 17:59:29 PDT, seller added the following information: I am not a certified GM Goodwrench Mechanic, but I have looked over the mechanical condition of this truck a little better for a member wanting to drive it home 200 miles. My findings are as follows : All exterior lights work, battery looks new , but date code reads almost 3 years old (cranks fine), good fan belt and hoses, no water pump play, tires good, clutch feels good, good brakes, wipers work, radio works, temp gauge works, oil pressure gauge works, windows roll up and down. Fuel gauge does NOT work (wires just lying next to tank) Engine idles rough at start up, smooths out in a few minutes. Idles high at running temp. Exhaust smells very rich. Has hesitation from an idle. Has rocker arm tick after it reaches operating temp (I am told its normal) Cold start up oil pressure is close to 60lbs at operating it falls off to 30lbs at idle (normal) I would recomend a good tune up. I have driven much worse farther than 200 miles. My answer was yes. Please understand that I listed the battery as new, because it looked brand new. Her boyfriend recently spent around $900 on this truck, with the battery looking new I thought that was part of it. (battery is 3 years old with few miles on it and still cranks like new)
