FOR SALE: 1974 Porsche 914 1.8L. This car has lived out west until I bought it. Since then it has been garage-kept and only taken out in good weather. In terms of rust and construction, this car is impressive. There is no give in the frame, and the little surface rust there is (battery tray, behind seats) can be easily treated. PA antiques do not need to pass inspection, but I've put money into this car every year to fix cosmetic problems and replace minor parts. There is a scratch on the passenger side in front of the door. The car has been repainted; there are no obvious chips that have been painted over but you'll find a few. There are rock chips on the front end of the hood. All in all, though, this is an incredibly sturdy car for its age. Barring a cold morning or being stored all winter, it starts up and drives without a fuss. If you can continue to put money into it regularly it's sure to appreciate as it gets older. Other details:- Engine has been overhauled at some point- Push rod tubes do not leak- Fuel injection is all original- Fuel pump has been moved to front- Fuel tank is clean, may have been refurbished- Longitudinals in good condition Issues:- Oil on underside of engine- No front and rear sway bars- No stainless steel heat exchangers- Washer pump not installed- No rear window defrost- Rear window rattles; window seals aren't exact- Side mirror is cracked
