This 1967 Mercury Cougar XR7 has several rare options, including a tilt-away steering wheel, low fuel level warning light, leather seats, XR7 oil pressure gauge (in dash), factory console w/overhead map lights, and 289 engine with 2 barrel carb. In 2007, I installed a new radiator, hoses, fuel tank, and rebuilt the front suspension and 4 wheel power drum brakes. Car was last driven in the summer of 2007 for the last leg of Hod Rod Magazine's Power Tour (Memphis, TN to Little Rock, AR and back). No major problems on the trip, other than some oil consumption. Since then, the power steering assist ram has been removed; it needs to be rebuilt. Car will start and is driveable for short distances; however, the engine is probably due for an overhaul. As you can see from the pics, the front floorpans and trunk area have rust damage and will need repairs. I have purchased a new sheetmetal part for the trunk area. I have acquired front rotors, calipers, and spindles for a front disc brake conversion. Air conditioning compressor and power steering pump have been removed and retained, along with interior console and other items. As for the exterior body, it is mostly straight, with the exception of the top quarter panel areas from previous repair work in that area (done long before I acquired the car). Please note that the battery shown in the photos will not be included with the vehicle; I borrowed it from another car so I could take photos.
