!973 VW S/B Electric Conversion, runs but needs new batteries, license current until 2012.. It has 16 - 6 volt Saft Nicad Stm5-180 batteries, a 96 volt pack. The vehicle can run on a battery pack voltage anywhere from 96 to 120 volts. It has been on several test drives and has been up to 55mph.. A new set of batteries should give you a range of around 35 to 40 miles. Uses a Prestolite Mtc 4001 dc brush motor rebuilt and set up for EV use by Jim Husted, of JIMERICO.net. and built for a max. 144volt pack. The motor to tranny adapter was made by ElectroAutomotive.com., and has a new clutch,p/p and flywheel. The controller is a rebuilt Curtis 1221B, charger is a Russco SC120-18 and the buck/boost transformer is included (used for higher voltage or faster charging) Charges on 120v. outlet. It has gauges, pack fuse and breaker as well as a DC/DC converter to keep the aux battery charged.. Car has new front brakes, brake cylinders and wheel bearings. Back brakes are thin but usable. The rear shocks have been replaced with adjustable overloads to handle the extra weight of the batteries. Lots of extra parts included, chrome trim is in trunk as well as fasteners and new fender beading. Pans are solid, just a couple pin holes under aux battery (cleaned and coated with por 15) Lights and brake lights working, turn signal flashes rapidly on right side and horn not working. I will also include wiring diagrams, charger manual and a controller manual on disc. . Car can be driven short distances, but accelerates slowly due to bad batteries. Sold as-is and buyer will be responsible for pickup and transport of vehicle.
